Kostel svatého Jakuba apoštola v Hřivicích Church
Kostel svatého Jakuba apoštola v Hřivicích is a parish temple of the Louny district protected since 1964. It stands in the southwest corner of the village at the foot of the valley slope of the Hasina stream.
The oldest mention of the church dates back to 1355, when the local vicar Velislav was left one pile of grosses a year's widow after the Lounian Consult by Mikuláš Vlček. Until 1425, the names of five other spiritual administrators appear in the written records, including the knight Rudolf of Horán (1397). Hřevický church had a decent immovable property and in the pre-Hussite period it belonged to the fifth highest tenth of the Žetek dean. In the 16th century the priests Jiří Klučovský and Jan Lukvin, the last mentioned in 1549, are recorded. After the second half of the 16th century, the rectory was probably not occupied, although Mikuláš Tkadalec, the debtor of the noblewoman Alena of Mochidlan, lived there in the 1880s. In 1603 the church was already proven to serve.
The Hřivice temple became a philia of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Očeň, certainly after the Thirty Years War or even before it. Matrices were introduced in 1648. There is a brick bell tower, which is probably older than the church itself. The window profile at the top of the tower suggests its formation in the second half of the 17th century. In the bell tower is placed the bell Jakub from 1506, which was the reason why the tower was not built during the new construction of the church. The cause of the new construction was a fire that broke out in the early 1800s. The project of the new church from 1723 was developed by Schwarzenberg architect Anton Erhard Martinelli; the building was financed by the Schwarzenberg Patronage Office.
In the 1940s, the local population promoted the establishment of a local population. In 1847 a new parish building was built, where a year later the clergymen moved in. The church became a locale of the parish. The parish was completely restored in 1858 with a district involving the village of Konetopa, Pnetypuk, Markvarec and Solomích. The church underwent reconstruction of the facade in 2016.
Architecturally, the church is a one-ship building with a rectangular plan and rounded corners. The presbytery has a semi-circular end with a sacristy arched cross attached to the south side. Side facades are broken down by lizene frames and rectangular windows. The entrance facade, also divided by the lizen frames, contains a portal and two niche with statues of St. Vojtěch and St. Prokop from 1746 by František Rotter. The statue of St. Christopher, probably the same author, stands in presbytery. The facade is highlighted by high lay and shield with volute wings and triangular attachment. The central part of the ship is encapsulated by a flat arch, over a circle and at the winning arch the arches of the plate arches are joined. The presbytery is also encapsulated by a transverse flat arch with a concourse in the end.
The interior is decorated mainly with rococo equipment, the main portal altar from the first quarter of the 18th century is baroque. The altar is decorated with the painting of the House of St. James by E. Neumann (20th century) and three statues of St. Peter, St. Paul and the Holy Trinity. The Rococo side altar of St. Anne Samothird, which was created after the middle of the 18th century, is supplemented by statues of St. John Nepomuk and St. Joseph. The equipment also includes a pulpit with a statue of a blessing Christ and fourteen rustic baroque paintings of the cross road.

The Church of Saint James the Apostle is a Roman Catholic parish church in Hřivice in the Louny region. It stands at the foot of a slope above the valley of the Hasina stream, in the southwestern corner of the village square. Since nineteen sixty-four it has been protected as a cultural monument.
The earliest written mention of the church dates from thirteen fifty-five. At that time, the widow of Mikuláš Vlček, a Louny councillor, bequeathed to the Hřivice parish priest Velislav one kop of groschen annually. The church had considerable real estate and before the Hussite wars it paid the fifth highest tithe from the Žatec deanery. After the middle of the sixteenth century the parish was apparently not occupied. In sixteen hundred three, however, masses were provably held here. The church possibly became a subsidiary church of the parish in Opočna even before the Thirty Years' War. After the war this was certainly the case.
The church has a brick bell tower. It is probably older than the present church and likely arose in the second half of the seventeenth century. A bell named Jakub from fifteen hundred six hangs in it. It was probably because of the bell tower that the new church did not receive a tower. Construction likely took place after a fire in the early twenties of the eighteenth century. A design from seventeen twenty-three was prepared by the Schwarzenberg architect Anton Erhard Martinelli and construction was financed by the Schwarzenberg patronage office.
In the nineteenth century the residents of Hřivice endeavoured to have their own clergyman. In eighteen forty-seven a new parish building was constructed and a year later a priest moved into it. In eighteen fifty-eight the parish was restored and it included Konětopy, Pnětluky, Markvarec and Solopysky. In twenty sixteen the church facade underwent reconstruction.
The church is single-naved. It has a rectangular floor plan with rounded corners and a semicircularly terminated choir. Most distinctive is the entrance front with a high pediment and a gable with scrolled wings. In the niches on either side of the portal stand statues of Saint Vojtěch and Saint Prokop from seventeen forty-six by František Rotter. He is probably also the author of the statue of Saint Christopher in the niche at the end of the choir.
Inside, Rococo furnishings predominate. The main altar from the first quarter of the eighteenth century is however Baroque. It is decorated with a painting of the Beheading of Saint James from the twentieth century and statues of Saint Peter, Saint Paul and the Holy Trinity. A Rococo side altar is dedicated to Saint Anne the Triple. The furnishings also include a pulpit with a statue of the blessing Christ and fourteen rustic Baroque paintings of the Way of the Cross.

There were people here who lived for a living through agriculture and pasture. The church was their sanctuary where they went to pray for rich crops and protect their animals. They were good people who valued their traditions and culture.
