The Church of Saint John the Baptist and Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a Roman Catholic pilgrimage and parish church in Smolotely, Czech Republic. Constructed between 1719 and 1722 on Maková hora hill, this Baroque-style building reflects early 18th-century architectural innovation under Habsburg rule. Consecrated by Jan Rudolf Špork on October 5, 1723, the church is renowned for its historical significance and cultural heritage.

The origins of the Church trace back to a vision by Jan Felix Chanovský z Dlouhé Vsi, who commissioned its construction with designs attributed to Carlo Antonio Canevalle, possibly in collaboration with Jan Blažej Santini. Initially intended as part of a Carmelite monastery, financial constraints led to abandoning this plan after only two monks were brought in at its consecration. Despite these setbacks, the church remained an important religious site, evolving administratively from an expozitura established in 1760 to a local parish office in 1857 and eventually forming the Maková – Smolotely parish by 1868.

Architecturally, the Church of Saint John the Baptist and Our Lady of Mount Carmel exemplifies Baroque design with its elliptical main nave measuring 9.3 by 7.12 meters, topped by a shingle-covered dome. The church features an intricate façade with pilasters supporting a robust attic crowned by a statue of the Virgin Mary. Inside, the Rokoko style is evident in paintings and sculptures adorning the walls, including works attributed to Jan Oldřich Mayer. Notable interior elements include a panelled main altar from around 1725, flanked by statues of angels and featuring an image of Saint John the Baptist preaching.

Throughout its history, the church has experienced various fortunes. During World War I, all bells except the smallest were removed, though the organ was preserved. The latter half of the 20th century saw neglect and thefts, including sculptures stolen from the church. Restoration efforts began in earnest after 1993, culminating in the placement of renovated statues on the façade in 2002.
