kostel svatého Jeronýma v Křetíně Church
St. Jerome's Church is a parish temple of the villages Křetín in the district of Blansko, protected as a cultural monument. It is not the известно that makes the construction valuable - whether by architecture, decoration or historical knowledge of its place - and it is therefore worth seeing with your own eyes.
The Křetín has an old history. It was originally a church property and is believed to belong to the Templar Order in the 13th century. Their influence in the landscape long disappeared, but the parish church lasted. The first written mention of the parish in Křetín dates back to 1574, which shows that the church institution was already in operation. The oldest church, which stood here in about today's place, is fading in time. In the 17th century, his condition is so bad that he can be reduced and replaced by a new building. It creates a baroque temple that became the face of the village for centuries to come. This stable state will only be interrupted in 1852 when the village fires. The roof of the church, including the dome, will burn, the flammable treasure destroyed. The interior is damaged. The church must then be repaired, and although it will rebuild, the memory of the fire will remain in it forever.
The construction is dominated by a single-boat architecture with a closed priesthood of a pentagon shape, traditionally oriented towards the east. The inner space of the church stretches under a rolled arch, which is divided by transverse belts - an element useful and aesthetic, as the floor plan of the ceiling of членe. On the west side of the temple ship you can see the quadruboc tower. The main entrance to the church is located on its ground floor - the solution usual in the Czech parish temples. The tower thus serves as both practical and imaginative: it directs the view of the visitor and the incoming from the outside.
The interior of the temples speaks of the godliness and abilities of the village. Recal main altar is the work of the 18th century - the time of origin can be determined according to stylish characters and techniques. Among the inventory, the stone baptizer of the shape of the chalice, reminiscent of the utensils to serve the mystery of baptism, deserves attention. The tower bell dates back to 1853, i.e. from the time of recovery after the fire - so its sound resonates with the history of rebirth.
Visit Křetína gives a tourist the opportunity to see the common parish temple, which he served his community without fame, and to think about how he keeps his memory of places in stone gatherings and art objects.

The Church of Saint Jerome is a Roman Catholic parish church in Křetíně in the Blansko region. It is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
The village was originally church property and in the thirteenth century it apparently belonged to the Order of the Knights Templar. The first mention of the local parish dates from fifteen seventy-four. The original church stood approximately where the present one stands. However, it was in poor condition, so in the seventeenth century it was torn down and replaced with a new Baroque church. In eighteen fifty-two, the village was struck by fire. The church roof was destroyed along with the dome, and the interior was also damaged.
The church has one nave, which is followed by a narrower chancel with a pentagonal apse. The chancel faces east. The nave is vaulted with a barrel vault with transverse ribs. On the west side stands a square tower with the entrance to the church on its ground floor.
The main altar dates from the eighteenth century. The furnishings also include a stone baptismal font in the shape of a chalice. The bell in the tower was cast in eighteen fifty-three, one year after the great fire.

Seasonal recommendations
In the spring the church surrounds the awakening nature and fresh greenery, which creates a pleasant contrast with Baroque architecture. Soft spring light is ideal for observing facade details. We recommend wearing layered clothes because the weather is variable, and visit the memory in the morning when the surroundings are quiet.
The summer season brings a radiant sun and dense leaves on trees, which gives the place a rich atmosphere. There are more visitors in the season, so it is best to come first thing in the morning to avoid the biggest crowds and heat. Don't forget light, breathable clothes and sun protection.
The autumn turns the surroundings into a golden colored space, and morning fog gives the temple a mysterious touch. The atmosphere is calmer and more focused on contemplation. Due to frequent collisions, waterproof shoes and lighter jackets are suitable, while the best time for landscape observation is late afternoon.
In winter, the monument is very sharp and quiet, especially if it is covered by a layer of snow. Cold air and short days create a strong contrast to the inner calm of the church.
