The Church of Saint Joseph in Telnice is a prominent Roman Catholic filial church dedicated to Saint Joseph. It stands in the upper part of the town within the Ústí nad Labem district. This architectural landmark is an integral part of the Chlumec parish and serves as a significant cultural feature of the area. The church's origin dates back to the early 1900s when Otakar Klement z Westphalen-Fürstenbergu, a nobleman owning the Chlumec estate, proposed constructing a chapel in Telnice. He insisted it be located in the valley near Telnice. However, an alternative suggestion came from the local community. On July 14, 1909, during a town council meeting, innkeeper Kühnel presented a petition signed by 52 homeowners advocating for the church's construction on the upper part of the communal meadow. The residents assured that neither the building nor its maintenance would impose any financial burden on the town. This community-driven initiative led to the church being designed in a new Gothic style and completed by autumn 1910. It was consecrated on October 23, 1910, by Litoměřický bishop Dr. Josef Groß, with Chlumec parish priest Alfred Pattloch officiating the mass, marking a significant moment for the local community.

Architecturally, the Church of Saint Joseph is characterized by its oblong structure featuring a three-sided presbytery and a spire on its façade. This design reflects the new Gothic style prevalent during its construction period. The church underwent conservation efforts after falling into disrepair in the 1980s to prevent further degradation. These efforts included repairing the leaking roof and restoring the external façade, ensuring the preservation of this historical monument.

Throughout its history, the church has witnessed various changes in ownership and use. Initially serving as a place of worship, it fell into neglect after the last mass was held at the beginning of the 1980s. Interestingly, until 2014, the church served an unconventional role as a storage facility for local waste bins managed by the town's municipal office.

In recent years, under new town management, the Church of Saint Joseph has been cleared and secured to prevent further deterioration. Efforts are underway to restore it for cultural and social events, reflecting its potential as a community hub. While regular services are not currently held, occasional religious ceremonies may take place, maintaining its spiritual significance.
