The church of St. Prokop in Budiměřice is a New Romanesque building built between 1879 and 1881, located in the eastern part of the village near the south side of the road connecting Nymburk and Křínek. This monument is remarkable not only by its architecture, but also by a rich history dating back to the 14th century. In 1965 the church was included in the state list of cultural monuments, which underlines its importance for Czech culture.

The history of the church dates back to 1374, when the Gothic church of St. Prokop was first mentioned in writing. This first church was burnt down after the 30-year war and, despite the reconstruction around 1700, it broke down in 1803. The current building was not built in the same place as the original Gothic church, but on the then edge of the village. Architect Jan Kalouse (1836-1911) designed a new Romanesque building which was realized between 1879 and 1881.

The architecture of the church is characteristic of historism, specifically the New Romanesque style. Oriented construction has a rectangular boat with a saddle roof and a semi-circular presbytery. On the north and south side there are ports (sacristy), while on the west side it turns off a slender three-story tower with an eight-sided needle. The inner furnishings of the church come mainly from the time of construction, which includes a painting over the altar by the church painter Wilhelm Kandler (1816-1896) and an organ built by Karl Schiffner in 1881.

Around the church is a fenced area with a gate on the west side of the entrance to the church. The iron fence with sandstone suspicion and pillars are also protected as a cultural monument, which gives the whole area a historical look.

Today, the church of St. Prokop in Budiměřice is accessible to visitors and it is worth visiting it not only because of its architecture but also rich history. It is part of the cultural heritage of the Central Bohemia Region and represents an important monument for the local population and tourists. Visit this historical monument and appreciate its beauty and importance in the Czech cultural landscape.
