Kostel Všech svatých (Malíkovice) Church

The Church of All Saints in Malíkovice on the Kladno district is a subsidiary church of the Smečno parish. The originally Gothic structure was expanded in the nineteenth century, and today its entire area is protected as a cultural monument.

The church was built in the first half of the fourteenth century. By the year 1384 it is mentioned as a parish church. In 1787 a curacy was established there and later it became a parish church again. It remained so until the thirty-first of December 2008. The most significant architectural transformation came in the year 1826. At that time the church nave was extended by approximately one third and a sacristy was added to the church.

It is a single-nave structure. The nave has a flat ceiling and a ground plan measuring ten by seven and a half meters. It connects to a rectangular presbytery, five meters long and four meters wide. Both sections are separated by a semicircular triumphal arch. The sacristy adjoins the northern side of the presbytery. The entrance is from the west. There is also a choir loft located there, supported by a pair of stone pillars, and its lower part is vaulted with barrel vaults.

The interior furnishings of the church are modern. On the main altar is a painting of All Saints, which Petr Maixner painted in the year 1878. The tin baptismal font deserves attention. It stands on three curved lion legs, which widen at the point of attachment to the body of the font into a torso with a girl's head. The lid is decorated with a fifteen centimeter tall statue of John the Baptist and a convex ornament with a leaf motif. Along the rim of the lid a inscription is executed.

Ferdinand Velc recorded two bells in the bell chamber. The larger one, measuring forty-nine by forty centimeters, dated from the fourteenth century. The smaller bell measured thirty-one by twenty-four centimeters, bore an image of Saint Florian, and was cast in the year 1774.
