Maškův mlýn, also known as Brejchův, Dolejší, Špačkův, or Zadní, is a historic water mill in Prague's Zadní Kopanina district on the Radotínský potok. Recognized as an 'Endangered' cultural monument of the Czech Republic, it holds significance due to its age and representation of traditional milling practices.

First mentioned before 1618, Maškův mlýn has undergone several reconstructions reflecting changes in architectural styles and technology over time. Its origins trace back to a period marked by significant political and social changes in Bohemia, including the Thirty Years' War and subsequent Habsburg rule. The mill was first recorded in the Gruntovní kniha before 1618 as one of two mills in Zadní Kopanina, operated by Jan Brejcha. Initially constructed to serve feudal landowners who held rights over its operation, the mill's history is intertwined with traditional agrarian practices and regional developments.

Architecturally, Maškův mlýn has experienced multiple phases of construction and renovation. The original stone building was erected in 1665 using squared stones, showcasing a robust design typical of that era. Subsequent reconstructions occurred in 1846 and again in 1910 when a bakery was added to the structure. This evolution reflects both functional needs and aesthetic changes over time. Notably, the mill features thick stone walls—90 cm on the ground floor and 70 cm on the upper story—and a double-layered spruce roof. The main building's masonry portal bears inscriptions dating back to 1804, 1846, 1935 (or possibly 1939), and 1944, while a niche contains a marble statue of Saint John Nepomucene dated 1859.

Ownership of Maškův mlýn has shifted over the centuries. After its initial mention in historical records, Antonín Mašek acquired it from a mill under Lochkov in 1904. His descendants continued to operate the mill until July 1952 when operations ceased. This transition highlights the changing fortunes and administrative shifts that have characterized the site's history.

Throughout its existence, Maškův mlýn has witnessed key events and undergone significant transformations. The construction of a stone building in 1665 marked an important development, followed by major reconstructions in 1846 and 1910. These changes not only enhanced the mill's functionality but also contributed to its architectural heritage.

Today, Maškův mlýn stands as a testament to the region's milling history, though it faces challenges due to its 'Endangered' status. The site has suffered from neglect, with parts of the roof collapsing in 2010-2011 and subsequent water damage leading to decay caused by fungi. Despite these issues, efforts have been made for partial repairs, such as fixing the damaged roof in 2012.
