The townhouse No. 82 / 1 on Poláškova Street in Valašské Meziříčí is a cultural monument of the Czech Republic, listed on 13 November 1975. Located in one of the oldest streets of the city, probably founded at the end of the 13th century. The house is remarkable with its Renaissance architecture with later reconstruction in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Polášek Street, where the house is located, was part of the old wall of the city and a small stream was flowing beside it. Polichensko was entering the city through the gate that stood at today's Poláškov. This historical location provides context for understanding the importance and location of the house.

Architecturally, the townhouse is one storey with a rectangular plan, built on a deep plot. His facade is decorated with belt rustic, which is broken through two entrances and a window. The windows and entrances have a ribbon shampoo with Roman consoles above them. Between the ground floor and the floor there is a cordon Fabion ledge, while on the floor there are three windows with post-decktops on two consoles each. In the suprafenestra there is a relief console with a mascaron and above it is placed a mantelpiece. The soil half-floor has three small rectangular windows on the cordon ledge, while the facade ends with a crown ledge. The house has a saddle roof covered with metal.

The interior of the house is easily divided into commercial and residential spaces. In the front there are arched traverses, while in the back there is a valenously arched corridor leading to the yard. The staircase with cast iron railing leads to the floor where wooden frames and flat ceiling rooms are preserved. The house is undercut by corridors, vaulted with lunettes. On the ground floor there is a room glazed with a cross vault, which was converted into a garage.

The yard areas of the houses on Poláškov Street were partially exposed as a result of the construction of the city bypass. This fact highlights the dynamics of urban development and its impact on historical architecture.

Today the townhouse No. 82 / 1 is an important cultural monument that attracts visitors with its rich history and architectural features. Their visit offers a view of the history of the Valachian Mezirici and its development, which is an important contribution to understanding local culture and history. This monument is worth visiting not only for its aesthetic value but also as a witness to long-term changes in urban planning and the life of the city.

Welcome to the Valachian Mezirich. You have just stopped in a place that is a silent witness to many centuries that has turned into history here. You're standing right in front of a townhouse bearing the number 80-2-1 and located on Polášek Street. Before we go into deeper exploration, let yourself stand for a moment and perceive the atmosphere of this place. Look around you and try to imagine what this place looked like hundreds of years ago. Feel the strange calmness that this building radiates, even though the world around it is constantly changing, accelerating and reforming.

Now pay attention to the very street you're on. Polack Street is not just a common road between houses. He's one of the oldest in the city. It is estimated that its origins date back to the end of the 13th century. This means that this journey you are on today existed long before today's borders were formed or before the modern world became what it is today. When you look at this house, you look at a part of a very old urban organism. This house is not only a separate object, it is a solid part of the tissue of the city that evolved gradually, from medieval beginnings to today's form.

Now let's focus on the actual structure that is right in front of your eyes. This townhouse is very important to all of us because it is included in the official list of cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. This important step in protecting it became the 13th of November 1975. Since then, this house has been protected as a valuable legacy that we have a duty to pass on to other people. This is the way we say that this place has its own value, which cannot be replaced by anything other than this particular form.

If you look up now and start looking at the face of this house, you'll notice something very interesting. Its architecture is not the result of a single moment, but rather of a long and rich process. The basis, the soul of the house, is the Renaissance style. The Renaissance brought to architecture a search for harmony, harmony and a certain order, which sought to reflect human abilities and reason. Although many things have changed over time, this Renaissance spirit remains felt in detail and in the overall form of the house.

However, this house is not only visible through one era. It's like a book that has many chapters. In its appearance, there are clearly traces of later reconstruction that took place in the nineteenth and also in the twentieth century. That's very fascinating about architecture. You see the layering of times ahead of you. Every century that has stopped here has left its own trail, its own need to modernise or modify the space to match the time. As a result, the house does not act as a still image from the museum, but as a living organism that adapted to the needs of its inhabitants and changing times. So feel the mixture of styles that meet here - from the old Renaissance base to the features that brought the later period into the house.

Now you may ask who lived here, who built these walls, or who lived in these rooms with his joy and sadness. It's one of those questions history doesn't give us an immediate answer to. The names of the particular architects who designed the house, and the names of the prominent figures who would have lived here in the past, are not known to us. And yet there's a strange power involved. Even though we don't know their names, their presence here is felt in every detail, every stone and every line of this house. These are unknown people, residents, artisans and owners who left a trail. It is this anonymity that gives the place some mystery. You're standing in front of a house that witnessed thousands of human stories, even though no one knows those stories anymore. It is a reminder that history is not only about the great kings and warlords but, above all, about the ordinary people who created everyday life on these streets.

The interesting thing to realize is the depth of time this house represents. Imagine the contrast between the end of the 13th century when this street was formed, and 1975 when the house was officially recognised as a monument. Between these two points lie hundreds of years of development, wars, peace, bloom and decline. And yet this house is still standing here on Polášek Street, allowing you to look at it right now. It's a constant dialogue between the past and the present.

Now I want to invite you to keep looking. Let yourself drift through the atmosphere of Valachian Meziríčí and continue walking through these old streets. Every other house, every other alley can offer you a different view of how this city formed and how it lived. This house is just one of many points on the map of history, but it's a point that just opened the gate to your past.

Thank you for stopping by and paying attention to this memory. We wish you a beautiful and inspiring journey around the city. We will say goodbye, but we believe that these experiences and images from the past will be carried with you long after you leave here. Enjoy the rest of your day and continue exploring.
