The Jeweled Road Bridge No 1555-1 brightens the Golden Seat in the cadastral territory of Lomnice nad Lužnicí (Jindřich Hradec district). This historical monument was built in 1841 and is part of the national cultural monument of the Rožberg pond system. Since 1964 it has been registered in the Central List of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic. Thanks to its history, architecture and recent reconstruction it represents an important location.

The construction was created during the period of industrial development and modernization of Czech infrastructure. In 1841, corresponding to the number carved on the flood side of the vault, the work was completed. The building served as an important element of the road network and made it easier to connect the area to the surrounding area.

The architecture of the bridge is typical of stone construction. It is a single-bouquet arch bridge made of quarry stone and treated blocks. The gilt is 45 cm high and appears in front of the forehead by approximately three centimetres. The construction is slightly oblique and has massive, plastered support made of stone masonry. The original road was lively. Due to the emergency situation, the original capacity of 20 tonnes was reduced to 11 tonnes.

The reconstruction was carried out by Hochtief CZ in 2019. Above the existing structure was placed a slab frame made of prestressed concrete, which modernised the whole structure and increased its load capacity to 32 tonnes. The original structure was cleaned and paired up, the walls were injected with calcium mortar. The bridge wings were also left and paired.

Classification in the national cultural monument of the Rožberg pond system underlines its historical and cultural value. The 1841 summer mark on the vault is an important element reminiscent of the time of creation of the object.

Today, Bridge 1555-1 stands as a witness to the historical development of regional infrastructure and architecture. Thanks to the repair carried out, it can be further used and valued by future generations. For tourists and interested in history it is an interesting location that offers insight into the past and the opportunity to explore the cultural heritage of the Czech Republic.
