The town hall in Velešín, located on the square of J. V. Kamaríta no. 76 in the village of Velešín in the district of Český Krumlov, is an important historical monument, which testifies to the development of the self-administration of small Czech cities during the early and peak modern times. It was built in the 16th century and underwent several reconstructions, especially in the second half of the 18th century and in 1958. The town hall has been protected by a monument since 1958 and its historical value is highlighted by the city emblem from 1381 located above the entrance.

The town hall was connected with the development of city government in the Czech Republic during the 16th century, which was a period of cultural and political boom within the Habsburg monarchy. Before the city hall was built, official meetings were held at the house of the speedster. Evidence of the existence of the town hall dates back to 1611, when the remains of the sgraffiti decoration on the eastern facade were preserved.

The town hall is an architect of Renaissance style with building elements which were later modified during Baroque reconstruction. The building has a square floor plan with volute shields on the east and west side and a saddle roof covered with bimonas. In 1926, the roofing, plastering and beam ceiling were repaired in the meeting hall, the metal emblem of the city was placed in the facade. On 28 October 1928 commemorative plates were set for the fallen native of the First World War.

The city of Velešín was managed in the past by the city of the city, which took care of its maintenance and reconstruction. The key event was a major recovery in 1958 when extensive repairs took place. Among the attractions are the city emblem from the year 1381 located above the entrance and historical paintings of Přemysl Otakar II., Saint Řehora and other personalities stored in the meeting hall.

Today the town hall is not only a monument with an important historical background, but it also works as a seat of the city office. Its architectural elements and historical elements, such as the carpentry lining of the door and ancient documents preserved in the conference hall, attract visitors. Corrections made in 2005-2006 ensured the preservation of its original character and aesthetic value.

City Hall in Velešín is not only a witness of history, but also a lively place where local government activities take place today. Her visit offers an insight into the past and an understanding of the development of Czech urban structures. This monument is worth exploring for both historians and any interested in the rich history of Bohemia.

Welcome to Velešín. You are standing right in the square of J. V. Kamarita, in the very heart of this place, where the daily life of the city meets with deep history. In front of your eyes is a building that is much more than a wall and a roof. It's a city hall, a symbol of independence, the strength of the local people, and a witness of many centuries who have lived through this region. Feel the atmosphere around you. This building is not only an administrative centre, but above all proof of how self-government developed in small Czech cities over time and how people learned to manage their own affairs.

Let us now return together deep into the past to understand why this monument is so special. Although the building itself you see has its own clearly defined history, its roots go much further. Even in the 1930s, 81, the 14th century, this city had its own city emblem. This is an extremely important detail, because it was the first clear sign that the city had its own identity and its own rules. Now, if you look at the building, you realize that you're standing in front of a place that carries the legacy of these hundreds of years. The first written documents confirming the existence of the City Hall as such came into our hands in the year one thousand six hundred eleven. This tells us that the institution of the city administration was firm and stable in this area a long time ago.

Now pay attention to the very form of the building. When you look at it, you see the result of a lot of different times that were gradually taking turns here. The basic skeleton of the town hall was built in the 16th century. At that time, the Renaissance style flourished throughout Europe and around us, bringing a new order, harmony and a sense of beauty to architecture. It was during this period that the town hall formed into a form that was supposed to serve as the center of urban life. But history never stops and neither does this building. In the second half of the eighteenth century, the town hall underwent significant Baroque reconstruction. Imagine the transformation where the Renaissance face began to mix with a new, richer, more dynamic style that was in art. These changes were not only aesthetic, but reflected the changes of the city itself and its rise.

Now look carefully at the entrance to the building. There is one of the most important historical elements that you can observe from the vicinity. There is a city emblem above the entrance. But as we said before, his origin dates back to the year thirty-eight. It's like an invisible signature of history that welcomes you every time you approach City Hall. This character is the link between the medieval identity of the city and today's world. It is a symbol of continuity that survived wars, reconstructions and changes in political systems.

If we go further in time, we will get to the 20th century, which has brought great change to mankind, but also great pain. In the year one thousand nine hundred twenty-eight, commemorative records were set at City Hall for those who fell in the First World War. These plates serve as silent reminders of the human destinies and victims that this city and the whole country have had to pay. They add seriousness to the building and remind us that history is not only about great architects, but especially about the people who lived on these streets loved and suffered.

You may now be interested in how this building was handled in recent times. City Hall had a major renewal in the year one thousand nine hundred fifty-eight. It was this year that the building was officially declared a protected monument. This means that its value has been recognised not only by local but also by the whole country, and since then all efforts have been made to preserve it in the best possible form for future generations. This protection allows us to stand here today and perceive everything this building wants to tell us.

There is one interesting thing that may interest you. Think about how much this town hall is an important witness to the development of self-government. By the time small Czech cities began to form, the town hall was the most important point. It was a place where rules were decided, where disputes were settled and the future of the community was formed. So this building is living proof of how people learned to coexist and manage their surroundings independently. It is a monument to human efforts for order and joint decision-making.

Now that you've gone over the main points of the history of this building, I suggest you stop for a while and just keep your voice down. Look at the facade, see the atmosphere of the square, and imagine all the people who stood before you at moments like this for centuries. Every stone and every line of the building carries a piece of the story.

Thank you for taking this historic journey with us. City Hall in Velešín is just one of many places that can reveal the richness of this region. Continue to walk around the square, discover the next corner of town and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. We hope that this brief insight into the past has brought you new insights and interesting ideas. We will brighten you with a pleasant continuation of your visit. Goodbye.
