The Marian column with the statue of the Virgin Mary on the Peace Square in Vidnava (Jeseník district) is a top Baroque sculpture from 1714. It is displayed in life size on the globe with angel heads; in his right hand he holds Jesus and in his left scepter, which gives symbolic meaning to the statue.
The column has passed several stages of maintenance. It was first repaired in 1781, followed by further modifications in 1877. These interventions show a lasting interest in preserving the monument for future generations. In 2013 there was a detailed restaurant provided by MgA. Jakub Gajda from Ostrava. Costs in the amount of CZK 333 500 were paid by the municipality Vidnava and Olomouc Region from the Emergency Programme of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, which confirms the importance of the work for the local community.
