The statue of St. Joseph and Jesus and the angel, located in the centre of the village Osice in the district of Hradec Králové, is a top example of baroque sculpture. Created in 1735 by the famous Ignatius Devoty, this sandstone statue stands on an artificially designed high above the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic and is recorded in the catalogue of monuments under the number ÚSKP 29757 / 6-5497.

The creation of sculptures was related to the Baroque period in Central Europe, which manifested itself as dramatic and rich ornament in art and architecture. The Sokl is finished with a profiled cover plate, which once supplemented a pair of angels in the corners. Saint Joseph is depicted as an older bearded man with Jesus in his arms, both with halo. Angels who once supplemented composition and held symbolic objects - bell and harp - were removed in 2005.

The history of the sculpture is linked to his creator, Ignatius Devoty, one of the famous sculptors of his time. After the creation, the work went through several stages of maintenance and changes, the most significant of which was the removal of the angels in 2005, which was intended to protect the statue from further damage.

The statue of St. Joseph with Jesus and the angel is now one of the most significant cultural monuments of the village Osice. Its location on the high above the Church of the Ascension of the Virgin Mary creates a harmonious composition with the surrounding area.
