Stírka was an extinct estate in Prague 8-Libni, which originally served as a vineyard farm. The object stood between the streets of Zenklov and the Shadow. It is particularly remarkable by its long history from the 15th century to the time of complete demolition in 1986.
The oldest records of the vineyard Stírka dates back to 1582. It was located on the top between Sřežkov and Kobylis, on the right side of the road from Libna to Kobylisa towards the okrocarbon. Part of the complex was the vineyard tower, which dates back to the 15th century. At the end of the 16th century Jan Roždial held the vineyards.
The estate itself was probably built in 1664, which is confirmed by the year engraved in its cabin construction. In the years 1664 to 1677 Václav Jan Hoza was the owner of the new town express, who greatly evaluated the vineyard. The buildings were grouped around the square courtyard, which closed the wall. There was a one-story building on the east side with a tower. There was a barn with a small one and a greasy one, which was built in 1892.
Throughout history, the estate has undergone several changes in ownership and building decline. The Prussian wars in the 1940s ravaged vineyards and buildings. In 1768, the new town of Mathias Lippert bought the building and in 1782 it was taken over by the last township owner of Vojtěch Záruba. Since 1798, Stírka has been in possession of the peasant family of Dědinů, which has owned it for 150 years. During this period the focus from the winery to the cultivation of field crops was changed.
In 1932, the estate was taken over by Antonia Dádinová with her husband Matthew Lejka, which followed by the sale of land on the building plot. In 1954, the object was purchased by the State Farm of Devils, which used the space as a hostel for its employees. Between 1975 and 1985, Stírka was protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
The end of the monument was related to the construction of the Stírka estate. In 1974, all economic buildings were demolished. The building was demolished in 1986, despite the protests of the monuments.
Today, the estate in Libni no longer stands, and its existence is only documented by historical records. Nevertheless, Stírka remains an important example of Prague's extinct vineyard architecture and economic development of the site. The place of the former site today resembles the name of the surrounding settlement.
