Vápenka Loučná pod Klínovcem is a ruin of a 19th-century lime production plant located in the Háj u Loučné nad Klínovec district of Chomutov, Ústí Region. Since 1963 it has been protected as a cultural monument and belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage in the Erzgebirge / Krušnohoří mining area.
The beginning of its existence dates back to the mid-19th century, when it was founded on the estate of Countess Gabrielle Buquoy, which took over the estate in 1832. The limestone was built next to the quarry with calcitic-dolomitic marble, a geologically unique lentil body between the local coniferous and quartz rocks. Another source was the quarry on the Limestone Hill, 1.5 kilometers away, which was probably extracted since the middle of the 18th century. Some 1,5 million tonnes of marble were exported from both sites. Sixteen such bearings were located on the Czech side of the Erzgebirge Mountains and on the German side 93.
The area contained two polygonal shaft furnaces which were heated by wood from surrounding forests. During the later reconstruction there was a static securing of towers, maturation of vaults and repair of stone masonry, including the clasp. A wooden staircase with a counter roof was built in the south part of the tower.
The owner is the state enterprise Forests of the Czech Republic. The production of lime used for construction purposes and as fertiliser took place until 1924. Despite its cultural significance, the object was previously in poor technical condition. In 2004, the absence of security caused one of the furnaces to fall.
