Vlčnovské búdy located north of the village of Vlčnov represent the largest village monument reservation in the Czech Republic. It consists of a collection of thirty-five above-ground wine-growing structures, which are protected along with the territory of the reservation. The origin of these objects dates back to 1544, when they first appear in written records. In 1995 they were officially registered as village conservation. The locality is remarkable thanks to the blue huge and white plaster that underscore their unique appearance.

The first mention of the wolf buds dates back to 1544. At that time, the so-called "beatings" stood, which were later replaced by new building forms. Since the 19th century, the third kind of buds began to emerge, as can be seen today. This historical development illustrates the long tradition of wine-growing in the area and its transformation over the centuries.

Architecturally, individual buds differ according to their time of origin. The oldest were built from stifled clay, which was a typical material for early vinohradnic buildings in Bohemia. Newer objects are built from burnt and unburned bricks, reflecting progress in building technology. The interior is divided into two spaces: a larger mill in the middle and a smaller warehouse in the back for storing wine.

Although specific data on owners and administrators are not documented in detail, the history of local buds is closely linked to the wine-growing craft. The original "beatings" were gradually replaced by new structures, suggesting adaptation to changing needs and technologies.

The key event in the history of the Vlčnov Buds was their registration as a village monument reservation in 1995. This move was essential for the protection and preservation of these unique buildings, which represent not only the architectural but also the cultural monument of the region.

Today Vlčnovské búdy is accessible to visitors and serves as a proof of rich wine-growing tradition. Their specific appearance and historical significance make them an attractive target for anyone interested in the cultural heritage of the Czech Republic.

Vlčnovské búdy is not only an architectural monument but also a witness to long-term traditions and technologies. The visit offers an opportunity to explore the history of wine-growing in the Czech Republic and to appreciate efforts to protect and maintain them.

Hello and welcome to the Wolf Búd, the unique gem of our country. You are standing right in front of the largest total of wine-growing buildings in the Czech Republic, which form a village monument reservation. It may seem like a simple area with a few buds, but each has a history and a story.

Vlčnovské búdy has roots dating back to 1544, when they first appear in written sources. These buildings have evolved over the years; The oldest were built from stifling clay, which is a typical material of the time. Over a century, the architecture of these buds has undergone changes, and in the 19th century new generations of buildings have emerged using burnt and unburnt bricks.

Look around, notice the blue huge and white plaster that forms the characteristic appearance of these buildings. This contrast is not only aesthetically attractive, but also served practical purposes such as protection against moisture and sun.

Even though we are not familiar with the names of architects or specific historical personalities associated with these images, their work speaks for itself. These buildings were designed to withstand the challenges of time and nature and remain functional for centuries.

The interesting thing is that Vlčnovské búdy is not only protected buildings, but also has the status of village conservation since 1995. This title gives them additional importance and ensures protection not only of the buildings themselves, but also of the whole territory.

Let's move closer to one of the buds. Note details such as wooden structures and traditional windows that were crucial for wine-growing activities. These elements tell us about the lives of the people who worked here and their daily struggle with nature.

Now pay attention to the atmosphere around you. Vlčnovské búdy is not only a historical monument, but also a living witness to the past, which allows us to feel like part of a long tradition of wine-growing.

Allow me to invite you to explore this place again. Let yourself be approached by silent stories that any buda can tell, and make sure you remember this moment as the beginning of a deeper understanding of our common history. Welcome to the Wolf Buds, where the past and the present are harmonically related.

Thank you for your visit and I hope you will return with new knowledge and impressions. When we meet again, it is either to another monument site or in another pleasant corner of our beautiful territory.

Tips for visitors

The best time to visit the Wolf Buds is in the summer months, especially in August and September. This period offers not only pleasant temperatures, but also a beautiful view of vineyards with full grapes. The special feature is that at this time you can record the traditional harvest ceremony.

We recommend checking the current connection using the search engine, as the path may include several routes.

When planning your visit, don't forget to bring a sun protection suit, a bottle of drinking water and perhaps even shoes suitable for walking along the wine-border slopes. These items will make it easier for you to move between the eyes and ensure your comfort.

For photography is the best time in the morning or in the evening when light falls on the buds from an angle. This moment offers ideal conditions to capture the details of architecture and atmosphere of the place. Also remember to try different angles to find the most beautiful views.

In the vicinity of the Vlčnovské búd there are several attractions that can be visited during one day. If you like nature, you can explore the surrounding forests and streams. It is advisable for history lovers to visit a nearby castle or church that offer interesting information about the past of the region.
