The first references to this place appear in documents which are considered very old, although they often discuss their authenticity and some historians consider them later fakes from the middle of the third century, but still bring us to 1234. But originally there was not this elegant castle, which you are now observing, but an impenetrable, defending Gothic castle. It was a symbol of strength, a place to protect and defend above all.

It was during this period that one of the most important transformations in the history of this place occurred. The powerful and influential family of Žerotín took over this mansion and decided to turn the original medieval fortress into a Renaissance castle.
