Zámek Lhotka Chateau

The Zámek Lhotka is located in Lhotce in Tachov, in the Tis village cadastrum. Today, it is a protected cultural monument registered by the State Protection Authorities on 27 November 2009. The construction indicates the rich past of this territory and the changes that took place in the hands of the nobles and later the state.

Here was originally a fortress whose first written mention dates back to 1519. That's when it was owned by the House of Rendls of the Usava. After them another noble family - Švamberková, Henry Petr of Gutštejna and Kryštof Jonah Tucher of Šoberov hold it. Fortification of the fort can still be remembered today on the wetlands and ponds surrounding the building. Over time, however, the fort lost its importance as a seat of nobility and eventually disappeared.

She gained a new life with the Perglas coming from Perglas, which kept the land between 1673 and 1795. On the site of the original fortress they built a late Baroque castle, which became the dominant construction of the local economy. The memory of this aristocratic line remained in the Donator's inscription on the pedestal of the statue of St. John Nepomuk, which stands on the castle grounds. After the Perglars, Lhotka was joined by the last noble owners, Windischgrätzové, to the Tachov domain.

During the 20th century the castle changed its purpose. The state farm Tachov used it for its economic purposes, but the maintenance was neglected and the construction gradually faded. After 1989, he transferred assets to the State Land Office Fund. The declaration by the cultural monument in 2009 started a gradual renewal. The most important work eventually culminated in the overall exchange of the roof in 2019.

The castle is a typical example of remaking an older fortification into a Baroque comfortable mansion. The building takes the form of a lengthy double-deck, where the ground floor room is kneeling while the floors are flat-ceiling. The original decoration can be admired inside - the stucco elements and faceons are mainly preserved in the eastern part. On the other hand, the western part has been rebuilt in a newer history and served as a potato oven, suggesting its transformation into an economic space. The whole castle is situated in the middle of the former economic court, from which the granary was preserved mainly. The former distillery building that used to stand here was torn down in 2016.
