Ownership of Zámek Milíčeves has changed hands several times throughout its history. Initially owned by the Dohanští z Dohalic family in the 14th century, it was confiscated from Bedřich Bořek starší Dohalský in 1621 due to his involvement in the Bohemian Revolt. The estate was acquired by vévoda Albrecht z Valdštejna in 1623 and later donated to the Jičínské jezuity in 1627. Following the suppression of the Society of Jesus in 1773, the castle served as housing for officials until it was purchased by Eugen Vratislav Netolický in 1835. Michael Karel Althann acquired the estate in 1841 and initiated its classical transformation. The last private owner was Eugenie Seutterová von Loetzen.

Several key events have marked the history of Zámek Milíčeves. In 1903, a significant fire broke out within the castle but was successfully extinguished after three days. This event led to an empirical reconstruction in 1841 that shaped its current appearance. The castle's historical journey reflects broader societal changes and adaptations over centuries.
