On the northern edge of the village Přestavlky in Sedlci-Prčice, in the district of the Central Bohemian Region, stands the Baroque castle Nové Mitrovice. The name refers to the original name, which has gradually started to be used alternately with the designation according to today's location. The construction materialises the ambitions of the noble family of the Wrocław of Mitrovic, who linked her name to the rebuilding estate.

The House of Wrocław owned this estate in two historical periods: first from 1670 to 1685, and then again from 1724 to 1804. It was at this second stage of ownership that the castle was built. In 1736, a decisive reconstruction of the site took place in the presence of Count John Josef, who held the dignified position of the royal hradec bishop. A new building - a Baroque castle, which was intended to represent the prestige and power of its family, was built in the place where the fort was built.

Architecturally, the castle appears to be a storey building with a Mansard roof, the ground plan of which is the shape of the letter U. One of its characteristic elements is the central risalite with two side wings, which creates a harmonic composition. The facade is richly decorated with stucco, which in the Baroque was a sign of the taste and wealth of the builder. The whole complex is surrounded by a park planted with alien trees, which represented in the 18th century a sign of education and interest in botany.

The history of the castle is attributed to the Blaschke family during the 19th century, which owned it from 1867 to 1946. The Second World War brought about change - that's when the castle was expropriated to this family. In the following period the construction was transformed from an aristocratic residence to a public institution. Since 1959, there was a primary school. Today, it serves as a children's home, which means that for understandable reasons it is private and inaccessible to the public. Nor is it possible to visit the surrounding park.

The Castle Nové Mitrovice thus remains witness to the centuries of development of Czech nobility and the transformation of its role in national history - from the representative residence of the House of Wrocław to the educational institution of the present day. The architectural values are thus preserved outside the reach of the everyday eye, in silence and closure.
