Zděný holubník v zemědělském dvoře čp. 297 in the village Raspenava is a unique historical monument that attracts attention to its architecture and past. It is located in Luhu, part of the city Raspenava in the Frýdlantý way of the Liberec Region. This building was probably built in 1882-1883 as a romantic addition to the park near the villa owner of Gustav Richter's textile factory from Wittbach. The dove is known for its circular form, height 12 meters and rich breakdown of floors. It is the only example of such an object in the region and was declared a monument protected on 12 November 2001.

The dove was created at a time when Europe was undergoing an industrial revolution and historism prevailed in construction. It was built as a romantic addition to the park at Gustav Richter's textile factory, which reflects the wealth and taste of the time. The architecture of the dove is inspired by probably similar objects in France, which contributes to its uniqueness.

Architecturally, it is a multi-storey brick construction with a smooth light plaster. Its lower part consists of two ground-floor electors on each side of the conical part of the dove, which are 4 meters long and 1 meter wide. The body of its own dove consists of several slightly receding floors surrounded by a roof and rings at the pigeon openings. The high tapered roof with the poppy is supplemented by four saddle roofs with tinned towers, which gives the construction an elegant and decorative character.

Originally, the dove was the property of Gustav Richter. In 1934 there was an alleged reconstruction of plaster and internal structure, which helped to preserve the construction in its authentic form. Today, the dove is part of a private property near the county road II / 290, opposite the railway station Luh pod Smrk.

The dove represents an extraordinary proof of quality building art and generous concept of the area of the original agricultural estate. Its architecture is unique in the region and retains many details that contribute to its historical value.

Today the dove is located on the property of a private owner and is protected as a cultural monument. Its uniqueness and history make it an interesting destination for visitors who are interested in history and architecture. Visiting this object is an opportunity to appreciate the region's rich past and understand the importance of the industrial revolution for local culture.

The dove in Raspenava is not only a monument, but also a witness of the time that has shaped today's landscape. His visit offers a view of history and art from the past, making him an unforgettable target for anyone interested in historical architecture.

In the spring the surrounding nature flourishes and the yard appears fresh green, which contrasts beautifully with the old stone of the dove. The morning light is fine and underlines the details of the construction. We recommend to wear more layers of clothing, because the weather in this area is usually variable, and set off first thing in the morning when the air is the cleanest.

Summer months bring bright sun and rich colors of surrounding countryside. The atmosphere is full of life, and there's bird singing in the garden. Due to the high season, it is advisable to arrive very early in the morning to avoid the biggest groups of visitors. Don't forget light clothing and plenty of fluids.

In autumn, the yard is covered in golden and red tones, while morning fog gives the memory a mysterious touch. Light is soft and warm in this period, which is ideal for observing the texture of walls. Ideal is a visit in the afternoon and shoes that withstand moisture and fallen leaves.

In winter the surrounding area is covered with snow, which creates a quiet and quiet space where the very shape of the dove stands out. The contrast of the white landscape and darker masonry is very impressive. It is necessary to wear warm thermal clothing and to count on shorter accessibility times, therefore we recommend a visit before dark.
