Grygov Railway station

Railway station Grygov is an important hub on the two-track electrified line Česká Třebová - Přerov. It is part of the III Railway Speed Corridor. The building is especially recognizable thanks to historical buildings made of red bricks, which were declared a cultural monument of the Czech Republic in 2003.

Railway construction in this location was completed in 1841. Originally it was the turning wing of the line Přerov-Olomouc, which was realized by the company c. K. privileged North railway of Emperor Ferdinand. In 1880 there was a stop and three years later there was a loading dock. Significant development occurred in 1899, when the site became a cruising station, or an exodus. At that time, the development of the rail network was taking place throughout the region, which was crucial for the industrial revolution and economic growth.

The architecture of the station is based on Anton Dachler's type projects. The shipping building was built in 1899 according to plan Normalplan No. 34. It is made of a straight brick masonry with a storey part covered by a valb roof whose three axis shield side is oriented towards the track. It is followed by a perpendicular three-axis wing with a saddle roof. The facade consists of a combination of red bricks with bright elements at the crown ledge and corners. The windows are oblong, caste, and end with segmental ends in the shambles. Shields with a pair of rectangular windows fill vertically laid formwork with arc hem. The brick facades of the building were cleaned during repairs.

In addition to the shipping building, there is a service residence for eight families, also built in 1899 according to Normalplan plans 156 and 157. The storey object stands on a stone suspect and has a medium three-axis risalite made of a brick wall with brick enchantments. The interior layout included three two-bedroom and one one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen, with a shared bathroom for each floor. The entrance from the front station leads to corridors in three-axis risalita. This building was also declared a cultural monument in 2003 and its brick facades were cleaned during repairs.

Between 2004 and 2005, a new design was built between the shipping building and the residential building and elevator shafts were installed to the island platforms. The III corridor was built in the station between 2005 and 2007. The Grygov station is now remotely controlled from the Central Dispatcher's Workplace in Přerov. In km 198,548 there is also the train of PREFA Grygov, a. s.

The station offers passengers a national ČD ticket counter with payment in euro and card, barrier-free toilets and waiting room. There is a public parking and bus stop nearby.
