Hlavní pošta v Praze is a historic building located on Jindřišská street in the village Praha 1. In 1871- 1874 it was built as a neo-Renaissance architectural treasure and in 1998 it acquired cultural heritage status, which confirms its historical and aesthetic value.

The origin of this place is connected with the development of transport and communication during industrialization. At the site of today's building was once the Angel Garden, which was maintained in the 14th century by the court pharmacist Charles IV, followed by the monastery of the Celestin Order with the Chapel of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary designed by Kilian Ignác Dientzenhofer. After the abrogation of the monastery during the josefin reforms, the office and tobacco factory appeared here, which were demolished in 1871 for the construction of a new postal building. The design plan was developed by architect Antonín Brandner whose ideas were implemented by Jan Bělský.

Architecturally, the main post office in Prague is a representative of the neo-Renaissance style. Originally a three-storey building was built with lower side tracks and its centre is a large check-in hall with a roof originally designed for the detour of postal wagons. The fourth floor was added in 1922, which allowed further expansion of the building. The space is decorated with paintings by Karel Vítíslav Maška, who included in his work scenes from transport and postal industry along with botanical motifs. Historical photos of postal staff and old post office compartments on the gallery in the courtyard add additional historical depth to the building.

The building has undergone several proprietary changes and dramatic events. During the Prague uprising, it became a place of tough fighting, when the Nazis sought to cast it. After the war, the building was reconstructed in 1940-1950, 1960 and again in the 1990s. The most significant total reconstruction took place between 1996 and 1999 with a cost of CZK 682 million.

In 2023 the Czech Post offered the building for sale for CZK 1.325 billion, but on 13 October 2025 it was stated that it was still necessary for operation of the Czech Post Office. Today it serves as the headquarters of the Czech Post Office Praha 1 and offers a wide range of services. The building has 1780 post office compartments and is connected to the system of Prague pipeline mail.
