Hotel White Horse, located in Frýdlant in the Liberec Region on the Square of T. G. Masaryk, is a historic building with a rich past and architectural significance. The two connecting Renaissance houses in the first half of the 20th century was converted into a hotel with restaurants, which made it not only a cultural monument since 1958, but also an important part of the urban monument zone since 1992. The symbolic relief of horses on the ground floor of the house No. 92 highlights the historical name of the hotel and its connection with the past.

The history of the building dates back to the end of the 19th century, when it served as a touring inn with guest rooms under the German name Zum weissen Ross (The White Horse). This name reflected the dominance of the German population in Frýdlant, which was then part of Austria-Hungary. In 1911 Franz Kafka stayed here during his business trip to Frýdlant, where he checked the safety of work in local factories. This event highlights the historical and cultural value of the hotel.

Architecturally, the twins are composed of two one-storey houses of trapezoid floor plan, joined together. House No. 92 is higher with five window axes and a Mansard roof, while house No. 93 has four window axes and a saddle roof. The facade of both houses is decorated with a cordon ledge with a palmette decoration between the ground floor and the floor, which is typical of Renaissance architecture.

Hotel ownership has changed over the years. In 1924 it was bought by Josef Herrmann, who started to run a coffee shop with music and renamed the hotel Herrmann Hotel. Subsequently, in 1931, the hotel was sold to Rudolf Seidl, who gave him the name Hotel Seidel. After the end of World War II in May 1945, Václav Mošník took over the hotel and changed its name to the White Horse, which was similar to that of the first republic.

Cultural and historical events associated with the hotel are also interesting. In the 1950s and 1960s, there was a gas station outside the hotel, reflecting changes in local infrastructure. The house was declared a cultural monument in 1958 and since 1992 it has been part of the urban monument zone, which highlights its historical value.

Today, the White Horse is located in the center of Frýdlant and offers restaurant services and accommodation. Its history and architectural decoration make it an interesting destination for tourists who want to know the rich history of the city. Visiting this building is not only an opportunity to look at the historical house, but also a way to acquire part of the cultural heritage of Frýdlant.
