In the middle of the cemetery in Honbice in the Chrudim region stands the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Its origins date back to the mid-fourteenth century, when it was built as a Gothic structure. Since 1958 it has been protected as a cultural monument.
In the second half of the seventeenth century, the church underwent Baroque reconstruction. This was paid for by Maxmiliána Zárubová from Lišov. The changes mainly affected the interior, the façade was modified and a tower was added. In 1881, the church was significantly regothicized by the Chrudim architect František Schmoranz the Elder. Today the church is a subsidiary church of the Hrochův Týnec parish.
It is a single-nave building with a pentagonal presbytery. A square sacristy, built later, adjoins it from the north. Along the entire nave runs an antechamber, which connects to the sacristy. The roofs are covered with tiles.
The western façade is dominated by a prismatic tower, modified in the neo-Gothic style. It has a spire roof, topped with a cupola and a double metal cross. Entry to the church is through a sandstone portal in the tower. Above it is a rectangular window with sandstone edging, and above the window a profiled cornice runs around the tower. The corners of the tower are divided by projecting pilasters. The bell chamber is lit by two windows, and beneath the roof of the tower is a profiled crown cornice.

The nave is separated from the presbytery by a semicircular triumphal arch, beveled on both sides. A gabled portal leads into the sacristy.
Most of the furnishings date from the Baroque period. The columned main altar is from 1678. Two side altars and a pulpit were created around 1800.
