Kostel svatého Ducha (Krčín) Church

The Church of Saint Spirit in Krčín is a remarkable historical monument in the New Town of Meta in the Králové Hradec Region. Since the end of the 13th century it has been one of the oldest buildings in New Town, which may have preceded an earlier sacred building from the 10th century during Christian enlargement in Bohemia. This church, recognised as an architectural development and cultural importance, is protected as a national cultural monument.

The origin of the Church of the Holy Spirit comes from the late medieval period when it was first built with presbytery and a tower framed for time. Historical sources suggest construction around the end of the 13th century. The architectural elements from this time, such as the presbytery and the original tower, reflect the influence of the tank monastery St. Pole, founded in 1149. Architecturally, the Church of the Holy Spirit is equipped with a single-boat structure with an elongated plan and a square presbytery. It has three mattresses, with the original on the southeast side, and the sacristy in the north. Later, in 1876, other modifications introduced the neo-Romanesque facade.
