Kostel svatého Prokopa (Přepychy) Church
The church of St. Prokopa is a Roman Catholic car in Přepych, protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. It is located near the Farsky Pond and it is one of the buildings that shows the long-term architectural evolution of the region.
The church is rooted in the period of Gothic - the first mention of it dates back to 1355, when it existed as a Gothic building. Over time, his resemblance changed. In 1506, behind Mr. Nicholas Trčka from Lipa and Lichtenburg, presbyterium was built on his eastern side. The Renaissance elements were owned by the church in 1574, when it underwent the entire Renaissance reconstruction. The interior in its current form dates back to the 18th century - its equipment dates back to 1774.
Construction technology reflects the practical solution of its time. The church grew up from a quarry wall with occasional brick fragments. The bricks were then used in important places - in shields, in moles, in shallots and in wedges. The church's ship has a rectangular plan with steep shields and is encapsulated by a vaulted vault, which is divided by three pairs of manatees. The walls of the boat part decorate the armrest which gives it a gothic character.
The inner space is revived by three-arm bark on four ploughed pillars, beneath which cross crest arches are spread. The main ship is joined in the east by a five-sided presbytery with sacristy sides. The northwest corner is interfered with a tower which is an integral part of the composition, as well as a staircase lid and a hallway on the west front.
The windows of the boat part are not original - they are later extended solutions. However, it is possible to find fragments of two older windows preserved on the western part of the south wall that indicate the original concept. The crowns of the walls of the boat section, both towers and southern sacristy are part of the later modifications.
Today the church serves its purpose as a car. Religious services are held here every Sunday at 10:00 and every Friday at 6:00 (winter time at 5:00). For the visitor Přeplych is not only an architectural interest, but also a living centre of the local religious community.

The Church of Saint Prokop is a Roman Catholic parish church in Přepychy in the Královéhradecký Region. It stands by Farský Pond and is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
The church was originally Gothic and the first mention of it dates from thirteen fifty-five. At the beginning of the sixteenth century, the manor belonged to Mikuláš Trčka of Lípa and Lichtenburka. Under his rule, in fifteen oh-six, a presbytery was created on the eastern side of the church, that is, the space around the main altar. In fifteen seventy-four, the building underwent a Renaissance reconstruction.
The core of the church is a rectangular nave with steep gables. It is covered by a barrel vault with three pairs of vault sections above the windows. Inside is a three-armed gallery that rests on four pillars with beveled edges. Under the gallery are cross vaults with ribs. To the east, the nave is followed by a pentagonal presbytery and sacristies are located on its sides. A tower stands at the northwestern corner. On the western façade is a smaller spiral staircase tower and an entrance hall.
The church is built of cut limestone, with fragments of bricks appearing only in places. Builders used bricks mainly in the gables, in cornices, in window frames and in curved brackets above openings. The walls of the nave are reinforced by buttresses.
Looking more closely, you can see that the building changed over the centuries. The slender pointed windows of the nave are not original; they were later enlarged. Only fragments of two of the older small windows remain, specifically in the western part of the south wall of the nave. The upper parts of the nave walls are not original either, nor are both towers and the southern sacristy.
The interior furnishings of the church date from seventeen seventy-four.

Imagine going back to the past, until Přepychy was still a small town. At that time, the church of St. Prokop stood in the middle of the village and was at the center of all activity.
There were people who cared about crops and animals. They were farmers, shepherds and merchants. They all met in church to pray and celebrate important days.
It was like a game where heroes come on stage. This is how the church of St. Prokop entered history. It was built in 1400 by a local estate that wanted to have its own place for prayer and gathering events.

Seasonal recommendations
Spring In the spring months, the Church of St. Prokopa is besieged in a green garment - the surroundings are awakening to life, meadows are blooming, and the sun's rays are pouring through the windows of the interior, creating on the stone walls a game of colored reflections. Specific is also the soft light of the morning hours, which emphasizes the details of statues and fresco, while in the afternoon the church immerses itself in a quiet atmosphere when visitors come for meditation rather than for tourists. Practical advice: The best time is early in the morning or in the afternoon after 14:00, when the church is less visited. Comfortable shoes are recommended, because after rainy spring days the roads to the memory can be muddy. The temperatures range between 5 and 15 ° C, so a light sweater or raincoat is enough.
Summer In the summer months the church turns into a magnet for tourists, but even in such a rush it retains its calm essence - the warm sun illuminates the facade so that it seems as if there is a golden fog coming from the stone, while in the shade of the interior there is pleasant cooling. The surrounding area is lively, the fields and forests around the Prouveau smell of herbs and ripe fruit, and the evenings bring a silent tune of bells. Practical advice: because of the high traffic, it is best to arrive before 9:00 or after 16:00, when the crowds shrink. Light clothes are recommended, but with the possibility to cover the shoulders (the interior is cold), and sunglasses.
Autumn Autumn brings golden colors around the church of St. Prokop, which are reflected in windows and create contrast with darker stone. Cold, bright days illuminate the interior so that it seems that the shadows of trees from the outside are moving on the walls. The atmosphere is quiet, almost mystical, and the church acts as a refuge from the wind countryside. Practical advice: The best time is the afternoon when the traffic decreases and the light is pleasant for a tour of details. The temperatures are dropping, so it is suitable for warmer clothes - sweater or jacket, and waterproof shoes for possible rain. In November, when St. Catherine's Day approaches, the church can be visited by more believers, but in general autumn is ideal for a peaceful visit without crowds.
Winter The winter landscape around the church of St. Prokop will turn into a white desert, where the snow surfaces reflect light from the stained glass and create mysterious, blue reflections in the interior. The freezing air freezes even the busiest visitors, and the church acts as a warm refuge where the scent of candles and old wood floats. Practical advice: warm, layered clothing, gloves and hats are recommended because outdoor temperatures often fall below freezing. The best time is the afternoon when the light is pleasant and the church is not yet closed. In advent time the interior can be decorated with Christmas decorations, which adds to the atmosphere.
