The church of St. Prokopa, together with a memorable lustre, forms the dominant part of the village Žiželice and serves as a parish temple of the Roman Catholic parish. Around it there is a abolished cemetery with statues that resemble the longer history of the place.

The beginnings of the church date back to the 13th century, when it was built by local nobles as a wooden building, at which time the village was owned by Dětoch z Třebelovice and Hradištka. The fundamental transformation of the church came in 1347, when it acquired the local estate Petr z Rožmberka. He had the wooden temple rebuilt into a stone church in approximately the present available. The construction then required further modifications - evident from 1712. The big test was the fire of 1830, after which the church threatened to be beaten out. The tower had to wait longer - its upper floor was not built until 1959. The importance of the construction is evidenced by its registration in the Central List of Real Estate Cultural Monuments in 1986.

Architecturally, it is a one-boat church with a rectangular plan with a five-hip closed with a presbytery and rectangular sacristy on the north side. The dominance of the facade is the prism tower. The presbytery is provided from the outside with gothic support pillars that indicate that it should or should have had a vault. The masonry presbytery breaks tall narrow windows without circles in a gothic spirit. The ground floor of the tower also retains a Gothic character. In the north wall of the ship is preserved a damaged saddle portal. In the ship and presbytery, flat ceilings from the 19th century with ceiling paintings of the same period prevail. The western part of the ship recaptures the crust on two columns.

The fateful fire in 1830 destroyed the original early Baroque equipment from 1681, and the church had to be provided with new equipment in a neo-Baroque style. The main altar became the work of Joseph Richtery and carries the painting of the Holy Prokop by I. Rause. St. Anne's side altar by A. Kintzlera from Chlumce nad Cidlinou is based in 1835. The preacher's office, probably also from Richtery, dates back to 1829. In the presbytery there is a romantic picture of the meeting of St. Prokop and Prince Oldřich, the Empire Baptist and the oak bench with the city emblem Žiželice. In the tower there are two bells carried over in 1798 from neighboring Končice and a small bell from the original assembly. The organ on the circle dates back to 1888 from Prague organist Karl Schiffner. Special attention should be paid to the late Gothic so-called "Žizelická monstránka" from 1510, which comes from this church and is now situated in the property of the parish office, deposited on the bishop in Hradec Králové.

The Church of Saint Prokop together with a remarkable small-leaved linden tree form the landmarks of Žiželic. It is the parish church of the local Roman Catholic parish. It is surrounded by a closed cemetery with several sculptures.

The origins of the church date back to the thirteenth century, when the village belonged to Dětocha of Třebelovic and Hradištka. At that time there stood a wooden church here. In the year 1347, Petr of Rožmberk acquired the local estate and had the church rebuilt in stone to approximately its present form. Further modifications came in the year 1712 and then after a fire in the year 1830. The upper floor of the tower was completed only in the year 1959. The church has been a cultural monument since the year 1986.

It is a single-nave building with a rectangular floor plan and a presbytery closed off with five sides. On its northern side stands a rectangular sacristy, and in the western façade stands a prismatic tower. The Gothic buttresses of the presbytery suggest that this part was meant to have, or perhaps did have, a cross vault. The presbytery is lit by tall narrow windows without tracery. The masonry of the ground floor of the tower is also Gothic. In the northern wall of the nave there remains a walled-up and damaged saddle-backed portal. The nave and presbytery are today covered with flat ceilings from the nineteenth century with ceiling paintings from the same period. In the western part of the nave stands a gallery on two pillars.

An early Baroque interior from the year 1681 was completely destroyed by fire in the year 1830. The church therefore received new, Neo-Baroque furnishings. The frame-style main altar from the year 1830 was created by Josef Richtera. It contains a painting of Saint Prokop by painter Raus from the year 1831. The side altar of Saint Anne from the year 1835 comes from Kintzler of Chlumec nad Cidlinou. The pulpit from the year 1829 was probably also made by Josef Richtera. In the presbytery there is a Romantic painting of the Meeting of Saint Prokop and Prince Oldřich. We also find there an Empire-style baptismal font and oak benches with the city coat of arms of Žiželic from the year 1830.

Two bells hang in the tower, which were brought here in the year 1798 from the bell tower in Končice, and a small bell from the original bell assembly. The organ in the gallery was, according to one source, built by Prague organ builder Karel Schiffner in the year 1888, according to another by Ignác Welzel in the year 1833.

The church also gave us a late Gothic Žiželic monstrance from the year 1510. It belongs to the parish office and in the year 2020 it was stored at the bishopric in Hradec Králové.
