The Church of St. Wenceslas in the New Sedle (also called the Church of the Holy Trinity and St. Wenceslas) is a parish temple dedicated to the patron of the Czech lands. Since 1964, it has been protected as a cultural monument. The building stands in the cemetery on the edge of the river terrace in the southeast part of the village.

The construction was built in the late Baroque period in 1735-1737. The single-boat church is oriented towards the southeast. The western facade is striking: it is dominated by two prism towers clinging a shield between them, an entrance portal and a complicated shaped window are opened in the axis. National and combined pilasters with rich ornamental decoration breaking the facade, other walls decorated with Lizzy frames. The presbytery has a rectangular plan with bevelled corners, sacristy and orator are attached on its sides.

The interior is enchanted by rich stucco decoration and paintings. The ship and the presbytery are jars of a flat vault divided by lunettes. The presbytery separates from the ship with a semi-circular victory curve, the circle is encapsulated including the underring. On the ceiling of the ship is depicted the motive of the meeting of St. Wenceslas with King Henry Birddog at the Assembly in Řezna and other stories from his life. In stucco frames they are painted by allegory of virtue.

The main altar has a space-developed architecture painted red and lined with mirrors. The picture of the murder of St. Wenceslas by František Lichtenreiter with statues of St. Joseph and St. Jachy is spread in the centre. The side altars of the Virgin Mary the Auxiliary and Saint Anne are Pilastres with glass cabinet with picture, figural attachment and rich carving decoration. All the statues in the church come from Jan Václav Grauer's workshop. The additional equipment includes the pulpit and the baptiser in the wooden panelling of the victorious arch, two confessions with the statues of King David and Mary Magdalena, the railings of the presbytery of the red marble and the six-piece organical closet on the ring.

A baroque column stands west of the entrance to the cemetery The most holy Trinity from the period around 1730, which is serious with the preparation of a location for the construction of the church.

The building was renovated in 1998-2014 under the Architectural Heritage Programme. Overall, 3,485 000 CZK was used for repair. The church remains an important architectural witness to the Baroque culture in Czech rural settlements.

The Church of Saint Václav in Nové Sedlo on the Lounsko is a Roman Catholic parish church. It is also sometimes referred to as the Church of the Most Holy Trinity and Saint Václav. It was built in the Baroque style between 1735 and 1737 and has been protected as a cultural monument since 1964. It stands in the cemetery on the edge of a river terrace in the southeastern part of the village.

It is a single-nave building oriented towards the southeast. The western façade is dominated by two prismatic towers between which a gable rises. In the center of the façade is an entrance portal and above it a complexly shaped window. The façade is further articulated by corner and grouped pilasters with rich ornamental decoration on the capitals. The other façades are decorated with lisene frames. Adjoining the rectangular presbytery with beveled corners are sacristy and oratory annexes on either side.

The nave and gallery, including the undergallery, are vaulted with a flat barrel vault with lunettes framing it in the nave. A semicircular triumphal arch separates the presbytery from the nave. The interior is adorned with abundant stuccowork and wall paintings. On the ceiling of the nave is depicted the meeting of Saint Václav with King Henry the Fowler at the Diet in Řezna and other scenes from Václav's life. In stucco frames are paintings of allegories of virtues.

The main altar features an architecturally developed structure painted red and embellished with mirror glass. Its center contains a painting of the Murder of Saint Václav by František Lichtenreiter and on either side stand statues of Saint Joseph and Saint Joachim. The side altars of Our Lady of Help and Saint Anne are pilaster style. They have a glazed shrine with a painting, a figurative superstructure, rich carved decoration, and statues of saints. The author of the sculptures in the church is Jan Václav Grauer.

The pulpit and baptismal font are built into the wooden paneling of the triumphal arch. The furnishings also include two curved confessionals with statues of King David and Mary Magdalene and the presbytery railing made of red marble. On the gallery is a six-part organ case.

Between 1995 and 2014, three million four hundred eighty-five thousand crowns were spent on church repairs from the Architectural Heritage Protection Program.

West of the cemetery entrance stands a Baroque column of the Most Holy Trinity dating from around 1730. It too is protected as a cultural monument.

Seasonal recommendations

Spring During the spring, the Church of St. Wenceslas in the New Sedla offers a unique atmosphere where the surrounding forests and meadows awaken to life. The light of the sun penetrates through the stained glass and creates a play of colors on stone walls, while the bells of the nearby church mingle with the bird's singing. Specific is also the flowering surroundings - in April and May the church is surrounded by flowering trees and the first wild flowers, which gives the visit a calm, almost fairy-tale mood. It is practically advisable to visit the memory early in the morning or late in the afternoon when there are fewer tourists. Comfortable shoes and light but warm clothes are recommended - the weather can be variable, with cold morning hours and sudden rains. It is also suitable to visit time in the period after Easter when nature flourishes and the church is often accompanied by exhibitions of regional artists.

Summer In the summer months the Church attracts mainly its surroundings - green hills and forests provide pleasant shade and pleasant temperature even in hot days. The sun illuminates the church at noon so that its stone reliefs and sculptures gain plastic and appear to "revive." The evening lighting is also specific, where the church is mysterious in summer nights, especially at sunset, when its silhouette is drawn against the blue sky. In the main summer season (July and August), however, it is necessary to expect a higher interest of visitors, which is why it is ideal to arrive before nine o'clock in the morning or after sixteen o'clock. Light, breathable clothes, a hat and plenty of water are recommended - there are no refreshment stands around. For a quieter tour it is advisable to avoid weekends and holidays.

Autumn Autumn visit of St. Wenceslas Church brings a unique combination of historical atmosphere and natural colors. In September and October, the woods around the church turn into a palette of yellow, orange and red shades, which are reflected in the stained glass of the church. The church is almost mystical when its windows are lit with the last rays of the sun and the shadows of the trees dancing on the walls. Specific is also silence - in autumn months the surroundings are quieter, without summer tourists, but with the possibility of meeting with locals who often visit the church during services. Practically it is appropriate to dress in warm layers because the weather changes quickly and the evenings are cold. A visit is recommended in the morning when the light is the most beautiful and avoid rainy days when the roads to the church are slippery.

Winter The winter visit to the Church of St. Wenceslas offers a unique atmosphere of calm and moderate light, when the snow cover and frozen trees supply the surroundings with a fairy tale. The church, illuminated by lamps and Christmas decorations (in advent time), is cozy and mysterious, while the bell rings are mixed with snow rustling. Specific is also limited daylight - in December and January the church is illuminated artificially, creating intimate, almost sacral space. It is practically necessary to count on shorter opening times (usually within 16 hours) and the possibility that some parts of the church will be closed. Hot but comfortable clothing (including waterproof shoes) is recommended, as the roads can be frozen. The best time is the afternoon when the church lights up with the last rays of the sun before nightfall.
