Due to a higher number of visitors, it is best to come as early as possible in the morning, ideally before 9 o'clock, or on the contrary late in the afternoon, when the crowds fall. Since it is a ruin without shadows, it is necessary to have enough drinking water, a hat and sunglasses. Clothing should be light and breathable, but with regard to the stone surfaces which are heated strongly, closed shoes with good grip are suitable.

Autumn offers a completely different, melancholy and dramatic impression in Chyší. Leaves on the surrounding trees turn colors into shades of gold, orange and brown, creating a wonderful contrast with dark stone fortification. The light is lower and warmer, often coloured in golden tones, which is ideal for photo images of ruins. The atmosphere is calmer than summer, but there are still plenty of visitors looking for inspiration in nature. I recommend a visit in the late afternoon when the sun falls low and throws long shadows at the walls. Clothes need to be warmer, because the evening cold comes faster. Watch out for slippery surfaces if it rains, as stone steps and roads can be wet and dangerous.

Winter brings a mysterious and ancient atmosphere to Chyší silence and a specific, often foggy atmosphere. The snow, if it falls, covers the walls with a white carpet and changes the overall appearance of the monument into a dream scene. The light is weak and gray, there is often fog that covers the surrounding hills and gives the place a mystical character. Visiting is the lowest during this period, which allows complete privacy and a peaceful tour without any interference. However, it is necessary to count on shorter days and cold weather, so it is appropriate to come mid-day when it is the hottest. Clothing must be very warm, laminated and waterproof, including winter footwear with anti-slip sole. Walking on walls can be difficult due to wind and cold, so it is important to check in advance whether certain sections are closed due to safety reasons.
