zámek Zahradiště Chateau

The Hunting zámek Zahradiště is located in a settlement of the same name, which is part of the village Radostina nad Záslavou, approximately twelve kilometres northwest of the Great Meziríčí. The building is located on Road II / 354 and is an interesting example of the establishment of a residential building in the Czech-Moravian border area.

The roots of data on the Garden dates back to the beginning of the sixteenth century when this name first occurs Entras in written sources as a designation of the meadow line. It is assumed that the medieval village with the same name was, but is not credible. The name of the field line Staré Zahradiště was derived from the name of the Old Zahradištský Pond. The village Zahradiště itself returns to written records until the beginning of the eighteenth century. Since the beginning of its existence, it has fallen under the large-scale estate, which has been created here by the Supreme Court and a tourist inn. These buildings were a common part of feudal assets - they served both for the accommodation of passengers and for the provision of local services.

The fundamental transformation of the building took place in the eighteenth century. Princess Eleonora z Lichtenštejna had the inn converted into a forest administration building. The construction has retained its economic purpose, but has acquired a new character. On its floor, rooms were set up for occasional guest accommodation during hunting hunts. In this way, a building with a representative ambition, appropriate to noble property, has evolved from a former economic building.

But the 20th century brought about a utilitarian transformation. In the second half of the forest was used as a medical warehouse. The building lost its original purpose and was adapted to the needs of the time.

The architecture of the castle reflects its age and changes. It's a storey building of a rectangular floor plan with a half roof. The ground floor contains rooms partially arched, partly flat-ceiling, so the gradual evolution of the building is visible. On the contrary, the floor bears a richer classic decoration, which calls for a period of reconstruction in the eighteenth century. At present, this decoration with the whole object is gradually restored. There are also adjacent economic buildings which complement the main building.

The change occurred in 2012 when the castle returned to the property of the Lichtenians and initiators of the process of its gradual reconstruction. The building leaves long years of neglect and becomes a subject of care with the knowledge of its historical and architectural potential. Zahradiště thus represents an example of the nLesser-known noble building, which, unlike the larger locks in the region, has undergone less dramatic transformations, but has nevertheless retained the testimony of several stages of Czech history.
