The agricultural estate no. 8 in the municipality of Lovčice represents the location of a richer economic building from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It is important in its architecture in the spirit of history and was declared a cultural monument of the Czech Republic in 2003.

The current appearance of the complex was probably created by modification of older buildings in the given period. This was the era of modernization in Czech agriculture, when rural architecture began to take over elements of urban historism.

The complex is located on the village and consists of residential building No. 8, discarding No. 70 and fencing. The residential house is located to the right of the entrance gate and is oriented from the shield to the village. It is a significantly longitudinal structure with a saddle roof whose slightly asymmetrical overlap covers the threshold. The shield facade is two-axis, decorated with conspicuous barefoot corner lizens and a gouge ledge. The windows are planted in profiled shambles, while the windows in the shield have belt shambles. The base of the house consists of a plinth of sandstone blocks.

Replacement No. 70 is also located to the right of the entrance gate and is oriented parallel to the baits. There are three windows in the facade facing the village, while the entrance is located in the shield facade from the yard side. The construction is omitted from the quarry, except for the brick shield; its surface is covered by smooth limestone plaster. Both houses are connected by a low gate with two sandstone pillars with the needles' heads and the original vertically shaped doors.

The key event in the newer history of the building was the declaration of the whole site for cultural monument in 2003 based on the design of architect Karel Kuči.

The current status of the facade of the residential house was assessed as severely damaged by 2021. Nevertheless, the building remains an important witness to the expansion of richer settlements in this location.

This estate represents a valuable example of historical rural architecture. Its visit allows you to see the history of agricultural flourishing in the village Lovčice.

Welcome to the historical monument of the agricultural court No. 8 in the village Lovčice. You are standing in front of an area that witnessed a rich past and architectural elegance. In front of you you can see a complex with a residential house, an excerpt and a fence with sandstone pillars. This complex is an example of a richer economic building that was renovated at the end of the 19th century.

Let's start by looking at the origin and historical context of this place. The area dates back to the turn of the 19th and 20th years of the last century. It may have been built as a modification of older buildings, which is common practice in this area. In 2003 this complex was declared a cultural monument to the Czech Republic based on the design of architect Karel Kuči. This statement not only protects the site, but also highlights its historical and cultural value.

Now pay attention to the architecture of this place. The residential house has the foundation of sandstone blocks, a sign of meticulous and permanent construction. The conspicuous barefoot corner Lizens give the building a unique character. The exchange on the premises is based on quarry optics, which adds to the overall impression of originality and traditional construction techniques.

As regards the key stories and personalities associated with this monument, it is necessary to mention architect Karel Kuchi. His proposal was a decisive factor in declaring the site a cultural monument. Although specific historical figures associated with this estate are not known, their lives and activities undoubtedly intertwined with this place.

The interesting thing is the fact that the whole complex was set out in the spirit of historicism. This architectural style gives the impression of nostalgia and respect for the past. It's a rare reminder of when local builders tried to preserve tradition in their works.

Let's move closer and look up at the sandstone pillars of the fence. Note how carefully arranged they are and how well integrated they are into the complex's overall image.

Invitation to explore again awaits you. Take a look around and enjoy the atmosphere of this historic place. I hope your visiting day here was full of discoveries and inspiration.

Thank you for your attention and have a nice day!

Tips for visitors

The best time to visit is late afternoon hours, when the sun gently illuminates the facades of buildings from the turn of the century. Thanks to the position on the village, natural light is available to highlight the details of historical architecture and the atmosphere of the rural environment.

You can reach the village Lovčice by car and public transport; We recommend checking the specific connections and current timetables in the internet search engine.

Since the condition of the objects is judged to be bad, we recommend fixed-base shoes and increased caution when moving around the buildings. Don't forget to take enough water, because there may not be any refreshments in the immediate vicinity.

For the best pictures, focus on the overall view of the resort from the village, which captures the character of a richer economic building. The architectural details from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries best excel with soft light shortly after sunrise or before sunset.

For families with children the visit is more suitable as a short educational walk with an explanation of the history of rural life. However, due to the poor technical condition of buildings, permanent and strict supervision of children is essential in order to avoid dangerous situations.

Seasonal recommendations

In spring, the yard will surround the waking greenery, which contrasts with the decaying state of the buildings. The soft spring light highlights the details of the old walls and the overall atmosphere seems hopeful. We recommend moisture-resistant shoes because the surrounding terrain can be muddy after thawing. The best time to visit is in the morning when the air is the cleanest.

The summer season brings sharp sun and rich colors of dry grass, which gives the place a rough character. The atmosphere is hot and calm, interrupted only by buzzing insects. Due to high temperatures and possible crowds in the high season, come early in the morning. Dress up light, breathable substances and do not forget enough fluids.

Autumn mists and golden leaves create a melancholy mood that perfectly matches the poor state of the monument. The lighting is finer in this period and the shadows are longer, which is suitable for photography. Because of the weather, choose layered clothes. An ideal visit in late afternoon.

In winter, the white snow will cover the mess and highlight the geometry of the ruins, causing a very sharp and quiet impression. Freezing air gives the place the rudeness and tranquility. It is necessary to have warm and waterproof clothes with anti-slip irritation. Count on shorter opening times and we recommend visiting in the morning.
