The oldest of them, which we were able to read, dates back to the year one thousand six hundred seventy-seven. Imagine the incredible length of time that this stone stands here, resisting rain, snow and sun, and it still lasts here as a reminder of someone who was once a part of this world.

Now pay attention to another important construction that is located on the premises. Notice the building that gives the whole place some order and nobility. It's a New Romanesque ceremonial hall built in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty. Its architecture has been designed to express the respect and dignity necessary for the ceremonies of leaving this world. This hall was the heart of rituals that accompanied the community in its most important moments.

Although we may not find the names of specific personalities from this place in today's records easily, each one of these thousand and three hundred and six tombstones represents someone who was important to his family and to this city.
