Enjoy the first impression when your eyes will rest on this extraordinary construction work located on the corner of the streets of Armory and Franciscan. In front of you you can see an eclectic three-story L-shaped object whose ground plan and overall layout form a very significant element of this part of the city. Now, stop for a moment, look around you, and feel the atmosphere of the place where the ancient spirit combines with the changes of the last century.

Let's move forward in time together and see how this building came into being and what it's done. Today's appearance of the building began to be born at the very beginning of the twentieth century. More precisely, in the year of nineteen hundred and two, a brand-new, modern building was created here according to the design of a gifted architect whose name was J. Kotek. This new building did not grow on the green meadow. It replaced a much older house, which remembered the events of the late 16th century. Between fifteen hundred and eighty-seven and fifteen hundred ninety-two, an older house, whose history dates back to the past of the Pilsen Inner City.

Now pay attention to the architecture itself and the details you have right in front of you. The building you're standing at right now has a very interesting ground plan in the shape of an L. When you look up, notice especially the bevelled corners, which are strongly highlighted by a small tower. The architecture of this house contains a combination of elements of historism and later modernization efforts. This is not the work of a single building epoch, but of a living organism that has undergone modifications. Over the years, the building has adapted to the needs of its inhabitants and to its period taste, which you can see with your own eyes.

When we talk about the history of this place, we must not forget the important personalities associated with it. Let us return once again to the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. In those times, the original old house belonged to an important man who was Šimon Plachý z Třebnice. The name of this family and this person gives the whole place a deeper historical dimension. We can only imagine what life at the time was like in these places, what conversations were held in the rooms that stood here centuries ago, and how Simon Pashý influenced life in the then Pilsen. His legacy is firmly linked to this land and persists throughout centuries until today.

The interesting thing about this place is the fact that the house did not turn in time after its completion in the early twentieth century. A significant milestone in his history was the year nineteen-seven. This year there was extensive modernization of the ground floor and also the first floor of the building. These modifications brought new modernisation elements from the 1940s to the older architectural basis. It is precisely this mixing of older traditions with modern interventions from nineteen hundred forty-seven creates a unique visual whole that you can admire when looking at the facade and individual floors. The house thus tells the story of several construction generations that participated in its form.
