Fara in Louny is a Baroque building from the beginning of the 18th century, located on the street Beneš z Louny opposite the main entrance to St. Nicholas' church. It is part of the Louna City Monument Zone and serves as the seat of the Roman Catholic parish - the deanery of Louny. This building is a protected cultural monument, which underlines its historical and architectural value.

The history of the Lounian parish dates back to the 13th century, when the church in Louny was already a parish centre. The original rectory was located at the site of today's house No. 137. In 1704 the construction of a new building started, which was completed in 1707. This building was initiated by the city of Louny and was led by Dominik Rigo, an architect from Mandria near Padua. The city spent 4332 gold and 19 tailors on construction. In 1708, the city sold an old rectory to one of the townspeople, allowing a new building to be built in its current location.

Architecturally, the rectory is a one-storey corner building with divided facades of Pilaster. The entrance portal and entrance to the entrance are located next to each other on the front facade. The windows on the ground floor do not have frontons, while above them on the floor there are arches and triangular frontons. The interior has arches rolling in both the corridor and the stairwell. There were changes in the interior during the 19th century.

Dominik Rigo, architect of the rectory, came from Mandria near Padua and in 1713 he built a new mill in Louny. His work on the parish building is an example of baroque style, which was particularly reflected in the construction of churches and monasteries in the Czech Republic.

Today, the parish serves as the seat of the Roman Catholic parish - the dean's office Louny. It is part of the urban heritage zone, which underlines its importance for the cultural heritage of the city. Visit her and appreciate her historical value and architectural beauty.

The Louny rectory is an example of baroque art and construction that reflects the city's rich history. Its preservation as a cultural monument ensures that future generations can appreciate its important role in the development of the Lounian clergy and architecture. Visit her and join the history of Louns.

Welcome to Louny, a city with rich history and beautiful sights. You are now facing a fascinating Baroque construction work - a rectory from the early 18th century. This architectural treasure, which proudly shuts down on Benes street from Louns, is part of the local monument zone and serves as the seat of the Roman Catholic parish. No wonder this rectory became one of the largest buildings in the city.

Let's dive into the history of this place. In 1704 the city of Louny began with an ambitious project to build a new rectory, which would serve as a spiritual centre for the inhabitants. The aim was to create a place where they could meet and pray, not only from a religious perspective, but also from a social perspective. In 1707, the building was completed with a chaplain, which added to its reverence.

Architect Dominik Rigo, known for his masterpiece and originality, led this project. His work is seen in every detail of the building - from elegant facade to harmonic symmetry of structure. Take a look up at the one-story corner section that adorns the entire facade, and notice the way the rectory is integrated into the local environment. It is indeed an example of baroque architecture with its richness of form and detail.

Let's now look at the key stories and personalities that are associated with this parish. Although particular historical figures are not known, it is clear that the city of Louny was very ambitious in its decision to create such an impressive spiritual centre. This parish was not only a place of prayer, but also a cultural and social centre for local residents.

The interesting thing is that even after centuries, this rectory remains a living witness to the past. It is a protected cultural monument and stands as a strong symbol of the lasting influence of Baroque architecture on the city of Louny. Every stone in this building has a story waiting to be told.
