Kirchnerova vila Villa
Kirchnerova vila, now called Villa Na Vypich, is a one-story Italian suburban building with a garden. Located at Na Vypich 288 / 13 in Prague 6-Liboci. Around 1891 it was designed by architect Josef Blecha and since 1964 it has been protected as a real cultural monument.
The building was built by the Kirchner family of Neukirchen. They were originally Nuremberg townspeople who settled in southern Bohemia in 1644. In 1733 they received a Czech noble title with a predicate from Neukirchen. Adolf Kirchner z Neukirchenu held a position in the Czech town hall in Prague. His eldest son Jan (* 1866), who served as district supervisor, also took the same position. The family owns a tomb in Olšanski Cemetery.
The building has a rectangular plan oriented parallel to the street. There is a two-storey tower coming from the southwest and a risalite with a portal and a three-sided tympanone is coming from the north. The terrace with open loggia, staircase and tower were inspired by nearby Schubert villa. The original open ship was later closed by the owner, but the stucco decoration of the facade was preserved.
The garden area was built in a desolate place between the northern wall of the Royal Star and Liboc road. It leads from the intersection in the part of Vypich to U Star street and continues to Liboce as LibocKá street. The name Na Vypich was given only after both sides of the road were completed by a residential installation.
From 2018 to 2021 the villa underwent extensive reconstruction under strict supervision of the monuments. The original fence with brick posts and wire mesh was replaced by concrete blocks. Only old sick trees were cut down, while the terrain of the garden remained completely preserved. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the object has desolate, but the restoration has restored it to its original form.
The monument presents a preserved example of an Italian suburban villa with historical connection to the Kirchner family, whose members were active in the Czech administration. There are royal majors of Star and Schubert Villa in the surroundings, which are architecturally related to the location. The building is worth a visit thanks to the preserved area with the original garden and tower, which is part of the renovated building.

Welcome to Liboci, where you are now in front of one of the most famous monuments of this area - Kirchner's villa, known today as Villa Na Vypich. This elegant building, built around 1891, will immediately address you with its historical line and the calm of the garden environment. Let's dive into her history.
Kirchnerova vila was built by architect Josefov Blecha as a typical Italian suburban villa, which makes it unique proof of the architectural taste at the time. Its owners were the family of Kirchners from Neukirchen, who settled in Bohemia and later received a noble title. This context contributes to a deeper understanding of their role in society at that time.
Look up at the two-story tower that's located on the southwest side. It's one of the most distinctive elements of architecture inspired by the nearby Schubert villa. Note the rich stucco decoration that gives the building elegance and historical significance.
There have been interesting stories about personalities like Adolf Kirchner z Neukirchenu. The Kirchner family, originally Nuremberg townspeople, has developed its history since the 17th century, and their story is inextricably linked to this vicar building.
The interesting thing about this place is that it has been included in the records of cultural monuments since 1964. This means that the villa is not only of architectural importance, but also an integral part of our state's cultural heritage.
The reconstruction of the villa started in 2018, which means that we are trying to preserve its original beauty and historical value for future generations. This process is an important step in protecting our cultural monuments.
We recommend to enjoy the calm of the garden environment and think about how this villa witnessed many changes and historical events. If you liked this place, feel free to explore other parts of Liboci and their rich heritage.
Thank you for your visit to Kirchner's villa and we hope you will return to exploring our cultural wealth. God!
