Church of the Annunciation The Lord in Zahájí represents a characteristic example of the parish temple, whose архитektура and fate are closely linked to the history of the region. Today it is a cultural monument protected since 3 May 1958.

The church was established at the end of the 13th century as a parish temple for the villages of Mydlovary, Olešnik and Zahájí. It was built in the respective architectural spirit of the time - in the simple Gothic-Romanesque style of the early Gothic. Its original disposition consisted of one temple ship with a rectangular priesthood, i.e. a building relatively compact and functional. Later, in the 15th to 17th century, he served as a filial church in the parish of Purkarec, which means he became part of a larger church structure.

During the second half of the 15th century there was a significant reconstruction. On the north side of the original church, a second ship was added, which had a presbytery triangular closed - with three sides resembling a triangle, which was a more sophisticated form than the original rectangular ending. With this extension of the church, its inner space has increased considerably.

The fundamental break in the fate of the church came in May 1742 when the battle took place in Zahájí as part of the Austrian heritage wars. Both the churches standing at the time burned down in this meeting. The following repairs and modifications were carried out in the Baroque style, which dominated European architecture at the time. In these works, it was decided that the two originally separated temples would be joined into one building - thus creating today's two-boat structure, which tourists and believers can see.

The interior of the church speaks of different historical layers. The most impressive element is the large portal main altar dating back to the first half of the 18th century, on which is the Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary. Among the other statues that the church is equipped with are the saints Zacharias, Elizabeth, Jáchym and Anna. In the northern temple ship there is an altar dedicated to St. John the Baptist, which comes from the same time as the main altar. The Baroque stone baptist with a tin lid - a typical element of Baroque decoration - and two 18th-century tombstones that demonstrate the continuity of burial in the church deserve special attention.

Special attractions are the Rococo Organ, which comes from the workshop Bedřich Semroda. These organs were not originally in Zahájí - they were moved here from the old church in Hosín, suggesting a practical approach to the protection and preservation of valuable equipment during the relevant period.

Today the church is surrounded by an already unused cemetery, which resembles the medieval tradition of burial around the parish temple. The visitor receives not only architectural insight, but also a sense of continuity of Czech spiritual life across centuries.

The Church of the Annunciation in Zahájí, sometimes also called the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, is the parish church of the local parish. It formerly also served as a pilgrimage church. Since May 3, 1958, it has been a cultural monument.

The church was built at the end of the 13th century in the style of early Gothic. It served as the parish church for three villages: Mydlovary, Olešník and Zahájí. From the 15th to the 17th century it belonged as a subsidiary church to the parish of Purkarec. Originally it had a single nave and a presbytery that ended at right angles. In the second half of the 15th century, a second church was added to its north side, whose presbytery was enclosed with three sides.

In May 1742, a battle was fought near Zahájí. The battle was part of the Wars of the Austrian Succession and both churches burned down during it. During subsequent repairs in the Baroque style, they were joined into a single two-nave structure. Around the church extends a cemetery, which is no longer in use today.

The main altar is large, of portal type and dates from the first half of the 18th century. A Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary stands on it. It is complemented by statues of Saint Zacharias, Saint Elizabeth, Saint Joachim and Saint Anne. In the north nave is an altar dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, which was created at the same time as the main altar. The church further preserves a Baroque stone baptismal font with a tin lid and two grave stones from the 18th century.

The Rococo organ was made by the workshop of Friedrich Semrád. It was brought to Zahájí from the old church in Hosín.
