The church was constructed in the early 1930s, a time of significant social and cultural change in Bohemia. Although the exact circumstances of its construction are unclear, it is known that the church was built for the local Starokatolická církev, which owned it until 1945. After the war, the church was taken over by the Církev československá husitská, followed by the Pravoslavná církev in 1958. The church was later used as a depot for folk furniture by the Okresní muzeum v Děčíně, but was eventually abandoned and left to decay.

The building's design features stone and other materials, but specific details about its construction and artistic elements are scarce. The church's interior and exterior have undergone several changes over the years, reflecting the various uses and owners it has had.
The church has had a tumultuous history, with several changes in ownership and use. In 1989, the church suffered a devastating fire that destroyed its roof, leaving it in a state of disrepair. The Old Catholic Church stands on the northern edge of Děčín, at the foot of Kvádrberek. It rose up on a rocky elevation called Šibeniční, or also Popravčí vrch, at a height of 157 meters above sea level, not far from the road from Děčín to Hřensko. The building combines a pseudo-Romanesque nave with a modern prismatic tower that has windows in the bell chamber.
The church was built in 1934. The local Old Catholic parish included believers from the Mostecka, Chomutovska and Kadaňska areas. However, the Old Catholic Church only owned the church until 1945. The expulsion of the Germans significantly decimated the number of its believers, and the church was then acquired by the Czechoslovak Hussite Church.
In 1958 the church was loaned to the Orthodox Church. Resettlers from the Soviet Union gathered there. From 1976 it served as a repository for folk furniture of the District Museum in Děčín, which had its roof repaired. However, the building was robbed several times, and the museum therefore closed the repository.
In September 1989 the church caught fire and its roof collapsed. It has not been used since. After 1990 the Old Catholic Church requested its return. It wanted to repair it so that services could resume there. However, it did not have enough money for the repairs. Between 2002 and 2004 the windows and entrance were bricked up.
In 2008 the church was acquired by the company Good Times for half a million crowns. What the company plans to do with the building is unclear. In January 2024, a Děčín company called Debt Collectors, which belongs to the Good Times Group, was registered as the owner of the ruin in the land registry.
