Příběnické podhradí Castle
Příběnické podhradí belonged to the castle of the Tale and formed an inseparable whole within the extensive Rožberg estate. According to archaeological research, the town was created in the subsoil at the same time as the castle, or just a little later, which proves its narrow historical interdependence with the fortification itself.
The subbase was strategically located behind the second castle gate in a river twist on the left bank of Lužka, about 200 metres below the bay with the castle itself. This position protected it effectively and at the same time it was appropriately located for economic activities. Only a small part of the original building was preserved - the remnants of the perimeter wall of the houses indicate the density and extent of the former settlement. The town also included important facilities, especially mill and brewery, typical economic buildings of medieval settlements.
An interesting construction was a wall with a latrine which, according to the observations of August Sedláček, was connected by a bridge with the opposite bank of Lužík. The pillars of this bridge were still in the 19th century with low water levels allegedly visible in the river. The bridge was connected with a smaller castle Textbook on the other side, indicating the complexity of the local defense system.
Today the location is part of the tourist infrastructure. The blue-marked route from Malšic in the former latran ends, the red-marked route through the Luželka valley passes through the underground and the yellow mark leads visitors up to the ruins of the castle. There is a holiday accommodation in the storytelling substation, which allows a longer stay in the historically rich landscape.

Příběnické podhradí is a former fortified town below the ruins of Příběnice castle. The castle belonged to the extensive Rosenberg estate in South Bohemia. Archaeological research has shown that the town in the foothills was founded at the same time as the castle, possibly only slightly later.
The foothills lay beyond the second castle gate, in a bend of the river on the left bank of the Lužnice. It was approximately two hundred metres away from the promontory on which the castle itself stood. The town once also had a mill and a brewery. Of the buildings, only fragments of the perimeter walls have survived to this day.
According to historian August Sedláček, a bridge across the Lužnice led from the foothills, which was also called latrán. On the opposite bank stood a smaller castle, Příběničky. The pillars of this bridge were reportedly still visible in the river in the nineteenth century when the water level was low.

Seasonal recommendations
Spring On Příběnické podhradí there is a magic of awakening nature in the spring months, where the shadow of the ruins intertwine between green meadows and young leaves of trees. The light of the sun, which is elongated at this time, softens illuminates the stone walls and creates a game of shadows on them, while wet air brings the delicate scent of wet earth and blooming bushes. The atmosphere is quiet, almost mysterious - as if the monument were waiting for visitors who decided to explore its secrets outside the main tourist routes. It is practically appropriate to visit the substation early in the morning or in the afternoon when you avoid larger groups of tourists heading for nearby forts. Clothes should be layered - spring weather is variable, whether it is sunny days with cold morning hours or sudden showers. Comfortable shoes are suitable, as the terrain is uneven and moist at times.
Summer In the summer months, Příběnické podhradí will turn into a vivid picture of historical stories illuminated by bright sun, which perfectly reveals every detail of stone structures. The warm afternoons and long days attract visitors to walks around, where calm stretches between dry grass and blooming field flowers. The atmosphere is lively, but not chaotic - ideal for those who wish to combine adventure with historical bond. The best time to visit is early in the morning, when you avoid the main flows of tourists, or late in the afternoon, when the sun shines oblique and shadows prolong the mystery of ruins. Light but protective clothing (hat, sunglasses) and plenty of water are recommended, as the terrain can be difficult in summer heat. In the main summer season it is recommended to park outside the centre and use public transport to minimise interference around the monument.
Autumn Autumn on the Priběnický podvrám brings a unique atmosphere where golden and red shades of deciduous leaves are projected on the grey wall of ruins and create a contrast that is almost painting. The colder air and short days turn the place into a quiet refuge where you can watch nature prepare for winter. The light of the sun, which boils down to the horizon, creates dramatic shadows and gives the memory a more mysterious touch. It is virtually best to visit the underground in September or early October, when the weather is still stable and the crowds are smaller than in summer. Clothes should be warm but not too massive - autumn days can be sunny, while evenings and mornings are cold. The waterproof shoes are also suitable, as rain may appear in October. At the advent time, when nature is retreating, the substation offers a special room, ideal for photographers and lovers of historical places.
Winter Winter Příběnické podhradí is a place where the past and the present come together in fog and snow, which covers the remnants of the walls and makes them as if icy reliefs. Short days and long evenings give the place a mysterious atmosphere where silence is intersected between snow surfaces and the shadow of ruins, interrupted only by rustling the breeze. Light, which is low above the horizon at this time, creates dramatic effects, especially at sunset, when the walls are colored in copper and purple shades. It is practically appropriate to visit a monument in December, when the snow cover is probably, but at the same time it is necessary to expect limited accessibility of some parts of the terrain. Clothes should be warm, laminated and protected from wind, as temperatures may be below freezing in winter. It is also recommended to monitor the opening times that are usually shortened in the winter months and choose the sunny days when visibility is best. For those who love winter peace, this period is ideal - the monument offers unique photographic opportunities and the feeling that you are returning to a time when only those who were not afraid of winter stood here.
