The railway station Zámrsk is a key transport hub in the village Zámrsk, located in the Ústí nad Orlicí district of Pardubice. It is located on the line Prague - Česká Třebová and was founded between 1843 and 1845 as part of the First Railway Corridor and the 4th Pan-European Railway Corridor.

The station was created as a three-track station of the IV class on the newly built line of the company North State Railway from Olomouc to Prague. The ceremonial train passed on August 20, 1845 for the personal management of engineer Jan Perner, who designed the entire track.

The original expedition building, probably by architect Anton Jüngling, was built in the style of the Empire. It was a three-storey structure with two side wings. The facade of the central part was decorated with belt brass and the windows on the ground floor ended with a half-circle enchantment with a direct mantelpiece. Side wings had smooth plaster and corner barefoot, while the interior did not contain a vestibule; passengers entered the waiting room through a narrow corridor.

The infrastructure of the station included a one-track draw with an adjacent storey workshop building and water tanks. A guard house was built near Olomouc, while in the second half of the 19th century there was a six-sided storey waterworks. In 1910 it was replaced by a double waterjet with two steel tanks of a total volume of 120 m ³, made of a non-washed white brick wall with a third wood floor.

The ownership of the station has undergone changes from the North State Railways to StEG to its nationalisation, when it was managed by state railways.

Zámrsk was of superior importance in the 19th century due to its position on the imperial road and it worked as the only cargo loading warehouse between Pardubice and Česká Třebová. The station was originally used by the inhabitants of the High Myth, which led to its renaming to the High Myto in 1862. The creation of the sugar factory in 1868 increased its importance, but a new station closer to the city centre in 1882 led to the return of the original name and the decrease in transport importance.

In 1958, the expedition building was registered in the Central List of Cultural Monuments, but the protection was abolished in July 1964 for general repair. The 1966 reconstruction was insensitive; The facade was plastered and the windows were replaced with large format windows, which suppressed the original Empire style.

The modern era of the station began in 1957 with electric operation. In 2005, a major reconstruction took place on the corridor station, where the platform was modified, an electronic information system was installed and the shipping building was repaired. These adjustments allowed the speed of trains to increase to 160 km / h. In 2013 there was an exchange of station security equipment, when the AŽD 71 relay equipment replaced the ESA 44 electronic control device, which is now controlled remotely from CDP Prague.

The railway station Zámrsk represents technical development of transport from the beginnings of the railway to modern high speed corridors. Its architecture, although marked by later interventions, resembles the era of establishing a railway network in the Czech countries and is a valuable destination for interested people in the industrial history and architecture of railways.

An interesting element is its original class IV three-track structure, which made it an important transport hub for the people of High Myth.

Zámrsk was created between 1843 and 1845 as part of the First Railway Corridor, which was crucial for the development of regional transport. Look up at the facade and notice its architectural features that reflect its time of origin. Interestingly, the station was also an important place for electrification of the line in 1957 and reconstruction in 2005 when it adapted to the requirements of corridor transport.

The interesting thing is that Zámrsk was part of the 4th Pan-European Railway Corridor, which underlines its strategic importance. Now pay attention to the story of Janes Perner, who not only drove the festive train, but also designed the entire track.

Seasonal recommendations

Spring: When nature wakes up, the surrounding station in Zámrsk offers fine light and fresh air. Growing trees create a pleasant atmosphere to observe changes in the landscape. Since the object is still in repair, prepare for the presence of building elements. I recommend wearing layered clothes because the morning temperatures may still be low. It is the perfect time for a quiet observation because visitors are so few so far.

Summer: In the summer months there is a strong sun and surrounding vegetation is very dense and green. The atmosphere is full of life, but due to the ongoing work, it may be hot around here. It is best to arrive early in the morning to avoid the greatest heat and possible crowds of people. Don't forget the headgear and enough water to drink.

Autumn: Autumn brings foggy morning times and beautiful leaf colors to this area. The low sun creates a melancholy and calm mood that matches the historical touch of the place. It is advisable to carry with you a waterproof jacket and fixed shoes because the soil may be wet. The afternoon hours are best for watching the color change of the surrounding forest.

Winter: Zimą is the atmosphere quiet and often snowy, which gives the station special peace. The days are short and the light is weak, which can highlight the shadows on the building that undergoes the adjustment. The necessity is very warm clothes and shoes suitable for walking on snow. Given the early shear, it's best to schedule a visit around noon.
