The Church of Saint Voršila in Újezdec is an outstanding example of transitional Romanesque-Gothic architecture, likely built between 1240 and 1250. Located on a hill's slope near former gold panning sites, this church stands as one of the best-preserved examples of its architectural style in southern Bohemia. It has been designated a cultural monument of the Czech Republic due to its historical significance and unique design.

The origins of the Church of Saint Voršila date back to the mid-13th century, during significant architectural and cultural development under the Přemyslid dynasty in Bohemia. This era saw many Romanesque and early Gothic structures built as part of broader European trends. The church was constructed on a hill's slope near former gold panning sites, indicating its strategic location at that time. By 1360, Újezdec was mentioned as a parish village, highlighting the church's early importance in the community.

Architecturally, the Church of Saint Voršila showcases a blend of Romanesque and Gothic elements, making it a unique example of transitional architecture. The structure is a simple rural single-nave church with a rectangular nave and nearly square presbytery. A polygonal tower stands at the northwest corner, adding to its distinctive silhouette. Although the original ribbed vaulting in the presbytery no longer exists and has been replaced by flat ceilings, the church retains much of its historical charm. The stylistic purity is slightly altered by a Baroque porch on the north side, which leads into the nave through an exquisitely preserved Gothic pointed arch with rich profiling.

Inside, the church features a unified Baroque interior. A notable element is the main altar from the early 18th century, complemented by an altarpiece depicting Saint Voršila, created in 1898 by Bedřich Kamarýt, who also crafted the church's Stations of the Cross. The church's bell tower houses two bells: one cast in 1690 by Friedrich Schönfeldt, a renowned Prague bell caster, and another from 1511. Historical records indicate that an older bell was removed in 1916, while another dedicated to Saint Wenceslas, originally from Bělčice, was taken down in 1942.

The church also boasts baroque pipe organs crafted by Friedrich Ferdinand Semrád of Sedlec in 1736. Originally installed in the Church of Our Lady in Drahoňov Újezd, they were relocated to Újezdec in 1851 and later declared a separate cultural monument in 2000.

Today, the Church of Saint Voršila remains an accessible site for visitors interested in exploring its architectural beauty and historical significance. Its well-preserved structure offers insight into the transitional period between Romanesque and Gothic styles, making it a valuable piece of Bohemian heritage. Visitors are invited to appreciate this cultural monument's unique blend of history and artistry, which continues to captivate those who explore its serene surroundings.

The Church of Saint Ursula in Újezdec is a rare example of transitional style between Romanesque and Gothic art. It was built in the late first half of the thirteenth century, probably between 1240 and 1250. It was constructed on a hillside slope, not far from a place where gold was once panned. In 1360, Újezdec is mentioned as a parish village. The church is among the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic buildings in South Bohemia and is protected as a cultural monument.

It is a simple rural single-nave sanctuary. The nave has a rectangular floor plan, and the presbytery is almost square. A prismatic tower stands in the northwestern corner. The stylistic purity of the building is disrupted only by a Baroque vestibule on the north side of the nave. From it, one enters the nave through a beautifully preserved Gothic pointed portal with rich profiling. The original ribbed vault in the presbytery was not preserved and was replaced with a flat ceiling. The nave also has a flat ceiling. In its western part is a gallery, which was created by modifying the original tribune. The tribune stands on two unequally wide arches with a massive pillar and is vaulted with a barrel vault.

The interior furnishings of the church are uniform and Baroque. The main altar dates from the beginning of the eighteenth century. The altarpiece of Saint Ursula from 1898 was painted by Bedřich Kamarýt, who is also the author of the Stations of the Cross.

A bell from 1690 hangs in the bell tower. It was cast by Prague bell founder Friedrich Schönfeldt. Even older is a small hand bell from 1511. The church lost two more bells during wars. One old bell was requisitioned in 1916. The second, dedicated to Saint Wenceslas and transferred from Bělčice, was requisitioned in 1942.

A valuable part of the church is the Baroque organ from 1736. It was built by Friedrich Ferdinand Semrád from Sedlce. Originally it served in the church in Drahoňův Újezdec and was moved to Újezdec in 1851. In the year 2000, it was declared an independent cultural monument.
