The church of St. John Nepomucký is located on the edge of Jetřichovice at the slope of the hill Vyštev, surrounded by a cemetery. Since 1966 it has been carrying the status of cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

The building was built in the 1748- 1752 as a Baroque plague chapel dedicated to St. John Nepomuk, patron saint of passengers. Four decades later, in 1787-1791, it was converted into a church. The author of this reconstruction was the children's builder Jan Václav Kosch. The church had long been without a tower, which was added in 1828-1829. Three bells were hung in it. One of them dates back to 1506 and originally hung in the already abolished костele of St. Vavríce in Litoměřice.

After World War II, the church began to decay, although there were services until the early 1980s. At the end of the 1980s, the building became a disaster. The rescue came in the form of a general repair in the years 1992- 1993. On 30 October 1993 he was reblessed by Bishop ThDr. Josef Koukl. The following decade brought further modifications - in 2005 the church was adapted to its current needs and submitted to further repairs in the years 2013- 2014.

Architecturally it is a baroque building of a single-boat type with a square presbytery, a rectangular sacristy on the north side and a prism tower on the west side. The facade consists of rectangular windows finished by segment and set in frame with handles. The tower in the lower part carries horizontal pairing, has a rectangular entrance and a semi-circular window. On the eastern facade, which is broken by Pillasters, there is an oval window and an encased edge field. The wreath shield closes a triangular ending with nothing containing the statue of St. John Nepomuk. The inner spaces are divided by different types of vaults - the presbytery has a Czech plaque, sacristy has a valed vault with lunettes, while the ship and the hall have flat ceilings.

The interior equipment is mostly from the 19th century. The surprise is the Rococo pulpit from the second quarter of the 18th century, richly carved. Confessors from around 1700 are decorated with acantic decoration. The baptism dates back to the second half of the 18th century, also in rococo style. The statue of the Virgin Mary is Baroque from around 1730. It is cruelly decorated with two relief angels and the Virgin Mary depicting the scene of the Annunciation from the first half of the 18th century. The side altars are dedicated to the patrons of the surrounding villages - the Holy Prokop of Rynartice and Saint Anne of Vysoká Lipa.

Today, the church appears to be an example of strong faith and ongoing care for spiritual heritage. Visitors can see here the layers of history - from the original plague chapel to the 18th and 19th centuries to today.

Welcome to Jetřichovice, where you stand before the unique monument of history and architecture - the church of St. John Nepomuk. This Baroque temple will now rise before you as a significant record of the past, which tells stories of resistance and spiritual strength. When you put your headphones on, open up for an interesting journey through time.

The church of St. John Nepomuk in Jetřichovice has roots dating back to the middle of the 18th century, when it was built as a plague chapel between 1748 and 1752. This initial building served as a spiritual refuge during the epidemic times, providing hope and comfort to the inhabitants. In 1787 a new chapter began in the history of the church, when the building was rebuilt into a full-fledged church under the guidance of architect Jan Václav Kosch. This transformation not only changed its function, but also its aesthetic and structural nature.

Look up at the facade of the church and notice the elegant lines characteristic of Baroque architecture. This time, known for its dramatic forms and its rich decoration, is captured here in the structure of the church, which invites you to explore its details. Although specific architectural elements are not described, you could enjoy the insight into the complexity and harmony that this style brings.

The key moment in the history of the church was its registration as a protected cultural monument in 1966. This status underlines not only the architectural value, but also the deeper cultural and spiritual importance that this church embodies for the local community. After repairs in 1993, the temple was again blessed by Bishop ThDr. Josef Koukl, which represented the restoration of his spiritual sanctification and association with the community.

Now look at one of the attractions of the church - an ancient bell from 1506. This bell, originally from Litoměřice, represents a fascinating connection with another location and time period. His presence in Jetřichovice gives the church another layer of history and mystery.

Let's move on to the conclusion of this visit. St. John Nepomuk's church in Jetřichovice is a place that offers a rich blend of history and spiritual attraction. When walking around enjoy the atmosphere and let yourself be approached by the secrets that this church hides.

Thank you for your visit to this precious place. I wish you a pleasant tour and I hope you will return with new knowledge of the rich heritage of Jetřichovice.
