Park ke 100. výročí vzniku ČSR is situated at the Rectorate of VSB - Technical University of Ostrava in Poruba, the local part of the Statutory City of Ostrava in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The public space was created to remind you of one century since the creation of the Czechoslovak Republic.

The park was created in 2018 with a variety of goals. The first was to create an interesting and publicly accessible space celebrating the jubilee. The second was the creation of a cultural and aesthetic environment intended for short-term rest and study - especially for students and employees of the University, but also for visitors from the surroundings of Poruba. The design took care to respect the current values of the site and to take into account the future needs of its development.

The architecture of the park is based on a number of symbolic elements. The central element is the planting of ten pieces of heartworm, which is the national tree of the Czech Republic. Among its tribes is a halved solitary stone, with the dates of a historic event embedded in it. The terrain was modeled so that its shape resembles the embossed membership of the Czech Republic. An additional element is the informal pavement, the course of which symbolizes the flows of Czechoslovak rivers.

The park stretches between Professor F. Whisper's Geological Pavilion and Pedagoga and students. These locations link it to other elements of the public space Porba.

The space shall be open to the public year-round without restriction. It was designed not only as part of a university complex, but as an open place serving the entire city of Poruba.

Welcome, dear visitors! You are standing in front of a beautiful, air park that was created for you - for those who want to remember an important historical event. You are surrounded by a green oasis that will remind you not only of nature but also of an important chapter in our history. Look upstairs - there's something special waiting for you.

The park was set up in 2018, the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Czechoslovak Republic. This event, which is celebrated every 28 October, was a major change for our country and symbolized the start of a new state. Park is actually a small but important reminder of what it meant to us. Join us on a journey to the past.

Now pay attention to what you see in front of you. The main element of the park are the ten beautiful better hearts, which were planted just for this occasional contribution. These trees are a national tree of the Czech Republic and therefore they have become a symbolic link with our roots. Their spreading tribes and leaves remind you how important it is to protect and respect nature.

Take a look at the landscaping - the park is designed to remind you of the relief of the Czech Republic. The small terrain formations you see here are like a map of our geographical form. Every step can remind you of how rich our country is - from mountains to lowlands. This is a symbol that reminds us of the unity and strength of our country.

The interesting thing is that the park was designed to be open and accessible to all. Not only for historians, but also for children who can play and explore here. Each of you here can remember what it means to be part of something bigger. Whether you are here for history, for nature or just for a quiet rest - the park offers you a place to relax and think.

If you look closer, you will also see a halved stone with data that is part of this symbolic whole. This stone is not only reminiscent of the creation of Czechoslovakia, but also of how our country has grown and developed. It's like a little stone record that reminds us that history is alive and full of important moments.

Now, take a moment. Park is a place where you can relax, explore the surroundings and even remember how important it is to remember our past. If you have time, explore further details - you may find something here that will interest you personally. Whether you're going home or moving on, remember that each of us has a role in history.

Thank you for your attention and we wish you a pleasant visit. Let it be as if you had returned to the time when Czechoslovakia was born. May the park bring you peace and memory of what connects us. Follow other paths and explore our history - either in the park or in other places that await you. Thank you, and when we meet again, let's always be together.

Seasonal recommendations

Spring Spring in the park for the 100th anniversary of ČSR offers a unique transformation of nature - flowering trees, green meadows and the delicate scent of first flowers such as spring tulips or convalines. The sun illuminates the park with a fine, scattered light that creates golden shadows on the grass. The atmosphere is full of calm, interrupted by only the noise of water from a nearby stream that wakes from winter sleep. In this period the park is ideal for walking when you can enjoy the air saturated with moisture and the smell of the ground after the rain. I recommend visiting him in May, when the days are warmer and the crowds are still not disturbed. Light clothes are suitable, but prepare an umbrella too - spring weather is unpredictable. The best time to visit is in the morning when the park is still lit by the sun and there are no mass trips.

Summer Summer brings to the park full of sun and warm, sunny days when families and nature lovers gather here. High temperatures and long light hours create a pleasant atmosphere, but also the need to protect yourself from direct sunlight. The park is green and full of life at this time - lime blooms, various shrubs bloom, and the air smells of grass and flowers. In the main summer season, however, larger crowds need to be counted, especially on weekends. I suggest you come as early as possible in the morning to enjoy your peace and avoid heat. Suitable is light, airy clothes, hat and plenty of water. Don't forget the sunscreen if you stay in the sun for longer.

Autumn Autumn park is magical - leaves on trees turn into colors from yellow to red, and the whole landscape turns into a golden mosaic. The sun already bears as much power as in summer, but its light is softer, scattered by the mists that often occur during this period. The atmosphere is quiet, almost mysterious, and the air smells of fallen leaves and needles. The park is less visited at this time, which allows you to relax without crowds. I recommend visiting it in September or early October when temperatures are pleasant and nature is still full of life. A warmer outfit or a sweater is suitable because evenings can cool down. The best time to visit is in the afternoon when the light is pleasant and the park is lit with golden autumn light.

Winter The winter park is covered with a white carpet of snow, which gives the whole area a quiet, almost fabulous atmosphere. The sun appears only briefly, but its light is bright and pure, creating shadows on the snow that resemble drawings. Nature is calm, the trees are dressed in white coats, and the air smells of fresh snow and firewood. In advent time there are often small lights that provide the park with another charm. Winter is the most peaceful time when you can look forward to silence and peace. I recommend visiting the park in December when there is the most holidays and the atmosphere is the most beautiful. Hot clothes are suitable, including warm shoes and gloves, and don't forget the hat. The best time to visit is in the afternoon when the light is the most pleasant and the park is lit with lights.
