Všeruby Castle

The castle Všeruby was built as a mansion at the Roman Tribune Church of St. Martin. The first well-documented owner was Hrodibor, a royal dining man, mentioned in 1212. His son also named Hrodibor and grandson of Vice-Mile lived here until 1269 when one of them had a stone castle built at the end of the island. In the same year, in the presence of 26 noble lords, a legal dispute was still discussed between the Pilsen monastery and Vavríc z Pňovan.

Information about the castle in the following centuries is thin. In 1363, there is a record in which Anna, the widow of John of Visterub, confirms her husband's legacy. In the seventies of the 14th century, part of the estate belonged to the Bavarian brothers and to the vicar Jindřich of Jezerub. In 1378, Bavaria sold part of it to Jindřich of Rabštejn and moved to Sørec. The land gradually passes into the hands of other branches of the Gutstein family - first the Half of Gutstejn, then his brother Jetřich, who died in 1417. The brothers Burjan and Jan, Jetřich's sons, were influential members of the Pilsen Landfryd, who had long faced Hussite forces. Further reports of the fate of the castle during the Hussite wars are not maintained, but it is assumed that the Hussite was not conquered.

Burjan II, son of Burjan, was involved in armed conflicts of his time. He reportedly participated in the attempt to conquer the castle in Podmoklech and when the army of королевská Jiří of Poděbrad was taken over by nearby Frumštejn, Burjan took it back in charge of the Greekhor unity and joined the ubiquitous estate. In this era, the castle was armed with artillery bastion.

The son of Burjanov, Jiří Všerubský z Gutštejna, usually dealt with his disputes by military means. In 1505, he sold the city and declared war on the King. Later the amnesty returned him to the ground. The castle of Mexico bought the main lines of the Gutstein family; Jiří's wife Anna of Smiřice and son Jan were staying at the castle under the supervision of the guardian Jetřich of Gutštejn. After Jetřich's death, John sold in 1520 Všeruby knights to Petra Kokořovci from Kokořov. Petrov's son Jiří then moved to the castle in Štišek and the castle was quickly desolate. When George's sons shared wealth in 1584, the castle no longer appears in documents.

From the point of view of the construction design the castle had a two-part arrangement. The foreshadow with the church of St. Martin was supposedly protected by two trenches, but the terrain had been modified since the middle of the 19th century and the fortification had almost disappeared. The actual castle core was square with dimensions of 33 × 38 meters, located below the church and separated by a deep moat carved in the rock. We don't know the internal structure; later it was broken by stone mining. Based on the bone and shard findings, we believe the west side served as a kitchen.

Visitors can now see an accessible cemetery with a church in the front yard. A path along the west wall of the cemetery leads to its own castle core, leading to the neck ditch.
