Kadaň je historické město v okrese Chomutov Ústeckém kraji, známé jako důležité kulturní a turistické centrum severozápadních Čech. S přibližným počtem 18 tisíc obyvatel je Kadaň srdcem historické oblasti Kadaňska, která sahá od Vejprt v Krušnohoří až po Doupovské vrchy. Město se pyšní bohatou historií, začínající prvními písemnými zmínkami z roku 1183, a bylo povýšeno na královské město kolem roku 1260. Historické jádro Kadaně, prohlášené památkovou rezervací v roce 1978, je domovem 20 evidovaných památek a každoročně oslavovaným císařským dnem Karla IV.
